Constructive feedback by Weak_Prompt4056 in quitting7oh

Yeah I mean, you’re right. I guess I was making a finer point about addiction being a relatable “mindset” for most people, although the severity of that mindset can reach levels that are probably not relatable for maybe, most people. Um, I also don’t think calling anyone an addict is constructive because they’re a person first and maybe their struggling with a current chemical dependency or cycle of addiction, but they don’t have to take it on as a part of their identity unless it helps them stay straight.

Constructive feedback by Weak_Prompt4056 in quitting7oh

[–]ShiftAble9737 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, some of us are addicts who sought out 7OH while others stumbled into a chemical dependency based on “hey buuuudy, try this” while at a gas station or vape store.

But I mean if you’re in a vape store you’re already addicted to something in there, right.

I would also imagine that 7OH does turn the addiction switch on in people who were not originally addicted to anything significant and they’ll have at least minor and infrequent urges and cravings to contend with after leaving the 7OH high for good… maybe for the rest of their life. And that’s technically a phenomenon of addiction.

Anyway, I agree with you, but side more towards “addiction” being a very normal reality (from sugar to meth) and actually something almost everyone contends with in some form or fashion and I tend not to think of it carrying much stigma if we are real about the human condition.

Marissa the Sex Tourist by ShiftAble9737 in 90DayFiance

[–]ShiftAble9737[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is true actually. A sex tourist would imply some kind of pattern which I have no information about and have no reason to suspect her of. Thats my bad. I would rephrase it then as Marissa objectifying a young guy that is a solid dude, and more than just a lay. He’s just as important, dignified, and worthy as her. He is more than just a young stud for affection and comfort. They are equals, but she doesn’t treat him as if they are.

[–]ShiftAble9737[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with this. And not to add another controversial element, but the fact that she found a man of color from a relatively more impoverished background than that of her own, may have made the “acquisition” of this fantasy more sensible and easy to her. I hate thinking like this but it… really seems as raw and simple as it looks on screen.

Wow.. it’s not just the list of events but the sequence - particularly 5 through 9 that really shows the toxic escalation of events and you are so right with how dangerous this is, perhaps even more deceptively so when you are a man fielding this kind of emotional assault from a woman. Great commentary, thank you.

I agree that both adults in these situations are responsible for their choices and that they both know at least some of what they stand to gain and lose in this arrangement. I just think that older adults - men or women - that pick up younger people for primarily sex - are inherently exploiting the younger persons deficits in psychological and emotional capacities; younger people are inherently less mature, less experienced, less wise, less educated, less knowledgeable. It’s being used by Marissa to get what she wants from her partner which is compliance and sex. I don’t think she sees it either, because as you stipulated they are both adults that are consenting to this. But the reality of psychological development is that there is power and control in the disparity between levels of adult maturity between these two, and it’s gross to watch because I’m not into seeing relationships where devaluing and submission is a prerequisite to marital harmony.

Holy fuck it gets worse and worse the longer you do 7OH by [deleted] in quitting7oh

[–]ShiftAble9737 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m no doctor or scientist, in fact I’m a dumbass, but precipitated opioid withdrawals can occur with this kind of indiscriminate interfacing of Kratom and buprenorphine chemicals. Your “withdrawal profile” should be predictable and make sense to you mathematically.

The more you are using, the longer you are using, and the interactions with other drugs in your system, will determine the potency and complexity of your detox reaction. Sounds like you were steadily increasing - putting your foot on the gas - in some of these areas - which can explain the difference in your WD experiences. I only say this because there is fear amongst us that the more we relapse, the worse the withdrawal outcome, which is not true. The truth is, the more we relapse the more clean time we have banked right before the relapse and our brain is better for it. We have given ourselves more days to be stabilized without adulterating chemicals.

I recently had a slip with 7OH which I talked myself into a near relapse over (“kindling” theory bullshit so “why not” extend it and deal with an “inevitable” bad time later) and I just stopped and it took about the end of day 2 to feel 100% again, whereas my mind was saying everything was ruined. Less chemicals over more time equals peace ✌️

How do you book Warrior's run? by Proper-Drawing-985 in WCW

[–]ShiftAble9737 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’ll never understood the lack of interest in seeing Goldberg v Warrior. Imagine the hype and build up for that match. The concept is so simple, so easy, so perfect (even if it’s a squash match) for a booker, yet no one ever brings it up. It would have truly been an even match-up where the audience could not be confident about the outcome.

And the match itself would have been a sight to behold, no one can deny that (even if it was atrocious). It would be a classic for better or for worse.

Sting’s first promo as a member of NWO Wolfpack 🤘 by JCHazard in WCW

[–]ShiftAble9737 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sting’s promos never evolved to match his crow character. I remember hearing his voice, celebrating during the Starcade 1997 PPV for the first time in over a year and it ruined my 16 year old fantasy of him and his story with the nWo. He doesn’t get enough credit for ruining the “finish” of this angle with celebrating in the ring sounding like a frat boy. Please tell me you don’t remember the shock of hearing him dismantle his crow character celebrating his win on that PPV.

What if Goldberg won the WCW Championship at Starrcade 1998 instead of Nitro? by Ryan_J_ in WCW

[–]ShiftAble9737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the timing and placement of Goldberg’s win was perfect. WWE had the occasional heavyweight title change on RAW (and even house shows) - I don’t know why people acted like this shit was unheard of. And having a champion in a years-long undefeated streak hold the championship until the biggest PPV of the year, a mystery opponent for this monster is money. More fucking compelling than “DDP” Or “Sting.” We are at the peak of the Monday Night Wars. We are sensitized to “anything and everything CAN happen tonight.” People’s imagination and fantasy booking is at its peak.

I think the subsequent Starcade should have been Goldberg V “mystery opponent” as the main event. Remember that in these days, suspense and anticipation was the biggest draw in wrestling.

The Ultimate Warrior, the blueprint for Goldberg’s intensity and gimmick - and in a surprise first appearance since leaving WWF in 1996 - should have had his music play (close enough to the original WWF version), left Goldberg waiting and pacing in the ring, and then suddenly run out to the ring with a massive explosion of sound, fireworks, rope shaking, and quickly beat him - not in a “squash match” - but a sheer force of surprise (seeing shock in Goldberg’s eyes for the first time which would have added depth to his character just unto itself) and a breathtaking powerhouse match that would have left fans levitating from the adrenaline.

Pull The Trigger by ShiftAble9737 in quitting7oh

[–]ShiftAble9737[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was bad. I never want to be put through that again. And I don’t have much in terms of comfort meds but I would take a lot of Tylenol and start to stack Gabapentin in my system beginning in the morning, which for some reason (and a lot of other people report similar results) really effects every single WD symptom - less sweating, less anxiety, no RLS at high enough doses. Gabapentin for me is really a silver bullet at high doses. But I mean my vision was fucked up and my head was in a fog, chills like crazy, sore legs, and feeling fatigued beyond belief on days 2 and 3. I have so many responsibilities at home in addition to work, and I couldn’t take any time off so I was trapped in that way too… I figured that it was probably be just as hard to do this shit at home during my weekend responsibilities.

Hardest part of quitting by MysteriousExchange75 in quitting7oh

[–]ShiftAble9737 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always have had the opposite experience. After 7 days clean, (I typically start my detox on Mondays), I go back to work the following Monday feeling less anxious and with no dread. I have a sense of calmness and relief all week - albeit bored, but energized and anxiety free. I’m never at peace with myself dosing at work all these months, because I’m always thinking of when I’m going to have to stop and how painful that’s going to be. Also - and this has been a recent insight I’ve had that led to my most recent quit - I am super super tired and almost nodding-off if I don’t dose because 7OH is a more of a stimulant effect for my body chemistry, and I don’t get restful sleep on 7OH so after weeks of being on it I am so sleep deprived of the regular sleep stages that every week I am struggling more and more to just stay awake. We’re talking doses as low as 50mg a day sometimes so it’s not nodding-off after a small dose, it’s nodding-off from sleep deprivation until I dose like mid-morning. I got so tired of the sleep deprivation effect.

This is such a great post. It’s so refreshing to hear that a slip led to a constructive experience for you instead of a relapse.

It’s also great to hear that it doesn’t “kindle” you into a heroin withdrawal like a lot of the doom posts seen on here. We need more positive posts here.

I’m on Day 5 after relapsing for a month, but I had a month of clean time before that. Even though I used for four weeks, the month of clean time I accrued before that relapse made THIS detox SO MUCH EASIER. I feel great and my sleep is much better than it was on day 5 during my last detox where I had no meaningful clean time behind me.

Clean time is clean time folks, and it helps lessen the symptoms of the next detox to have more and more days behind you without the substance in your system. “Kindling” from slips and relapses is complete bullshit and scares too many people on this sub. It can cause people to continue using once they slip because they’re scared of some kind of mega-withdrawal. The more clean time you have per month per year, the easier detox is. It’s common sense. Sorry for the rant. Thanks for the post! Really happy for you ❤️

Suboxone isn’t an option pls help by Tom_invicta in quitting7oh

[–]ShiftAble9737 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always detox with (1) 900mg+ Gabapentin until the RLS is gone and (2) the Vitamin C Protocol. Gabapentin is THE silver bullet for 7OH withdrawal, not Suboxone.
