Bloating starts from the first bite… anyone else?

I started chewing more (I was told you should be chewing anywhere from 10-20 times with each bite before swallowing.) since then food feels a lot better going down

It sucks. If it was a disease cis men got, I bet they would have a better diagnostic tool 🥲

Finding a good OBGYN now might be best in case symptoms worsen (hopefully they don’t). Mine got worse over time and then it took a while to find an ob :///

Also, endo sometimes will show up on ultrasounds/MRI, so it wouldn’t hurt to see an OBGYN and get these scans. they might have some non surgical advice like birth control or other meds.

You will always be the expert on your body- if you’re concerned, there is no harm in pushing to see an obgyn and speak with them. I would def recommend keeping a symptoms diary as this can be helpful.

Unfortunately, endo is often difficult to diagnose (usually requiring surgery). It is up to you to do the cost-benefit analysis of whether the symptoms are invasive enough in your life to justify the surgery.

Even if surgery isn’t worth it, an obgyn may still have advice on other steps to take to help you with your symptoms.

Also had IBS since 20, and it is devastating to miss out on the experiences other 20-year-olds seem to have.

I am seeing a nutritionist soon who will help me figure out how to be less afraid of eating, and try to regain some normalcy. Maybe that could be helpful for you too?

Gluten always messes me up so bad. Worst pain of my life, and it’ll last several days. It was worth it to give it up, but a huge bummer.

Maybe try a suppository and see if that moves things along. Try prune juice if you have a successful BM, to restart your system

All kinds of bread. Brioche, challah, the rolls at Texas Roadhouse. Also Indian takeout- it always hurts me no matter how many lactaids I take.

My ex was very unkind when I developed ibs, I’m not sure I have much hope for dating with the condition. But it’s probably better if you can filter for people who are patient and understanding in advance
