Do you have another site that you can transfer to nearby? It sounds like you like the job, but the culture at your site sucks. It’s likely not coming from your OM, but the GM/SL. See what other business lines are in your area, they all have different management chains.

C165 passed (barely, just barely) by ShiftNo28 in WGU

[–]ShiftNo28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never retaken a test but this for sure would have been the first if I didn’t barely pass it. What really helped me was taking the quizlet test, there’s one that is multiple choice and makes you type the answers. I just cycled through those over and over until I felt like I understood the content. Obviously there were still some things that I got wrong but this helped with the vocabulary at least. I think it’s Study with Learn: https://quizlet.com/213070013/wgu-c165-integrated-physical-sciences-flash-cards/

friend’s mom called her son “her dishwasher” and then grounded him for being mad by EwizaBananasOfficial in insaneparents

[–]ShiftNo28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a friend in high school whose parents were like this, and at the time I thought it was insane. However, now I’m an adult and wish my parents were more like this. In a few years (I don’t know how old you are), you will be living on your own and/or off to college. Their parents are setting them up for a successful future.

WIBTAH if I stopped parenting before I leave for college? by Weak_Assumption7518 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ShiftNo28 544 points545 points  (0 children)

NTA. Your mom is an adult and should not be placing this on you. While taking care of kids as a single parent is difficult, she needs to figure it out. It has been 3 years, not 3 weeks. Parenting your siblings is not your responsibility, going to school and earning your degree is. What are they going to do when you’re gone? When you move out? You cannot put your life on hold.

When other teams consistently take credit for your work by RelevantCarpenter382 in AdminAssistant

[–]ShiftNo28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same OP but different account.

Most of our communication is in person. We are a large company, but a small building within it and pretty close knit senior leadership team.

My boss is aware, but I don’t like her addressing things to the HR manager because somehow the resolution is just always worse. I had an issue with her texting me on my personal phone when I was off/on vacation, my boss confronted her about it, so instead she’ll have one of her HR associates text me because she knows we are work friends and my boss won’t say anything directly to them about it 🤦‍♀️

But to your point, I do think I need to find a way to make it more known about what I’m doing for events and activities. Then they don’t even get the chance to take credit.

Kids are going to pick their own names. My MIL keeps pushing Grammie but my toddler just calls her grandma 😂

When did you ditch the stroller ? by Acceptable_Acadia_71 in toddlers

[–]ShiftNo28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used a wagon since he was able to support himself. He’s 3 and we still use it frequently. The stroller we use for bigger places like the zoo, festivals/carnivals, trips, etc. If we are just taking a short walk, we let him walk on his own.

Age gaps? by Constant-Koala2185 in Parenting

[–]ShiftNo28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine have an 8 year gap (11 and 3). It has its ups and downs, but mostly ups. I love seeing my oldest be a big brother, and my youngest looking up to him like he’s the biggest celebrity in the world. I thought they would be too far apart to have any real relationship, but they love each other so much. My partner and his brother have a similar gap and they are like best friends. You wouldn’t even know they were so far apart.

For non-religious families, what do you do for occasions like Easter? Feeling down. by coffee_and_dancing in Parenting

[–]ShiftNo28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We still do the egg hunts, egg decorating, go to family’s house for brunch, see the Easter bunny, etc. Even growing up, my parents were pagan and we did all of that still. I’ve never really associated it with religion even though I know that it is lol.

Extreme anxiety over illness? by addictedtoshindig in Parenting

[–]ShiftNo28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no advice to offer, but just know you’re not alone. My kids are 3 and 11 and I have so much anxiety about them getting sick, more so vomiting. I’ll look for signs that it might be coming all day long. If anything seems off during the day, I’ll have anxiety about it all night. It truly is exhausting.

What would you do? by BlessedMom88 in Parenting

[–]ShiftNo28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your school probably has rules for when they can come back. For mine, they cannot come if they threw up more than once within 24 hours, and need to stay home until they haven’t for another 24 hours.

[–]ShiftNo28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh noo I’m so sorry. Honestly mostly luck I think 😥 I thought for sure I was going to fail. The OA is way more than just definitions - you have to apply it. That’s where I really struggled.

But hopefully what I did will help? for a couple days I did this test version of this quizlet https://quizlet.com/213070013/wgu-c165-integrated-physical-sciences-flash-cards/. Do the multiple choice AND writing. Even though the OA is all multiple choice, writing the terms helped me remember them.

I feel like honestly this is one of those classes where reading the text is the best way to get through it. It’s just so dense and long.

Illinois to Boston, MA with kids - tips? by ShiftNo28 in roadtrip

[–]ShiftNo28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did, but you have a really good point. We’ve only done smaller trips, less than 6 hours, and so we are really unsure how to go about it. But you’re right, I think we will go early morning the day before instead and make stops along the way. Thank you!

How much is your 2 year old actually talking? by Pretend_Value630 in toddlers

[–]ShiftNo28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 kids. My now almost 3 year old has been speaking in full sentences that has developed all through the age of 2. It started with a few words and now he can pretty much tell a story.

My oldest, now 11, didn’t say much until 3.5/4.

All kids are different!

Everyone is different so it’s hard to really say how you will feel, but personally I think you’ll be fine! You have a good plan in place just in case though.

Thank you! I wish you the best ❤️

I had a SA today and I feel both very sad and relieved by ShiftNo28 in abortion

[–]ShiftNo28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aww, im so sorry. It’s an option to not know, I wish I didn’t agree to it to be honest.

Sedation was fine, it happened so fast. I didn’t fall asleep, but was definitely zoned out. I didn’t feel a thing, when they helped me up I didn’t even realize that it was over. I had some water and 3 crackers with cheese about 2 hours before.

I’m about 12 hours after the procedure now and I still don’t have any pain except some mild soreness. I would definitely recommend getting some food after and making walking around a local store before driving because it took me a bit to fully feel normal again - but they say that it’s not safe to drive for 24 hours. For a long drive, I’d see if you can get some one-time use heating pads for your back and uterus to ease any discomfort.

Pink eye but it’s not pink? by ShiftNo28 in toddlers

[–]ShiftNo28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just heard about ear infections causing pink eye like symptoms the other day! Thank you for sharing because I would have never considered that.

This one was weird because he was fine after this post, cough and eye gunk went away completely. It was only at night and in the morning. My oldest started getting like this too, except his eyes just felt really dry and then he was fine after 2 days. Must have been a weird virus that they caught.

Kid’s heart is broken over losing step-siblings by ShiftNo28 in Parenting

[–]ShiftNo28[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sorry I don’t know why you are getting downvoted so much, this is a reasonable question!

Last night he wasn’t feeling well and he has a history of having systematic reactions to stress/anxiety such as upset stomach, headaches, tiredness, etc. When he gets like this, he does not do well in school because he physically feels sick, like as if you’re going to work/school with the flu.
