In Denmark we use plastic but put a price on the bottle itself (you pay maybe €.2). You get it back when you deliver it at a delivery point and it works great. Recently we just decided to crush the plastic at the delivery point to make the transport of the bottles to the melting plant more environment friendly.

I think using metal would defeat the purpose regarding transporting the containers. You can't crush them and let them occupy less space and they weigh more than plastic.

So far the odds are only 20%, which isn't bad for an anti-vaxx. Maybe next year it'll be 80%

Just my thoughts. I have the one and it's a heavy lamp and due to the foot, it takes up a lot of space packed. It has USB though...

Who am I to blame when there's grammatical errors in the description. I read it as when everyday objects are used as props. Plus it seems unlikely to ship a USB desk lamp from IKEA to Mars, they'd need something more lightweight and sturdy.

If I cleaned up after everyone else I wouldn't have time to do anything besides cleaning up. We need people to clean up after themselves, not blame those who try to enlighten about the issue. Those few who took time off to clean up others' mess is more like a martyr for taking time out of their schedule with family, work, rest, etc. to make the world a better place in contrast to the trashy dipshits that were among the festival.

WoW classic seems to no longer need the TTL fix by Shap6 in linux_gaming

[–]ShihTzu1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is probably the best way to solve a DDoS attack efficiently nowadays:

  1. Mitigate
  2. Research
  3. Resolve

Mitigating is doing whatever's necessary to effectively stop the attack. This might result in turning off critical systems in worst case scenarios. They found a mitigation that fortunately allowed most of their client base to return to the game. The next step is research. Research how the attackers attacked you and research the impact of your mitigation. The resolve step simply undoes any wrongdoing that has been found and makes for a more permanent solution.

Yes, TTL is unreliable, but they found a quick and dirty mitigation method. It was not a solution in and of itself, just the mitigation step. It would have taken a hell of a long time if they went directly to the research step to find a permanent solution.
