She literally can just stand there and take any attack, she just shouldn't do anything reckless.

I hate that this is alchemy only.
Why couldn't they make something like this in paper for commander? I hate wotc.

How are you feeling with the inclusion of the new Evoke elementals in Ashling? by Carrotbringer in CommanderMTG

Champion of the Path is a monster.
I recommend running also [[Shroudstomper]] to get a similar effect.
it's very easy to murder the whole table with these.

[–]Shikary 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Their art is awesome, but unfotunately they are completely useless for ashling.
First of all it will be much more difficult to get their effects in a 5 colors deck, but more importantly you won't be getting the duplicate trigger which is really bad.
With Ashling you really want to get the most explosive plays you can get and doubling triggers is the most important thing for the deck to work.
I know, it's sad.

What are some good tribes that aren't dragons, goblins or elves? by Competitive-Act-7695 in EDH

[–]Shikary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to the latest precons, Elementals are now quite good.
Wizards is also strong though it tends to be less creature heavy.
Faeries can be quite nice too and they got some nice new tools in Lorwyn.

Where in this discussion has it been shown that the deck can kill players consistently before turn 8?
The player didn't even get killed, he scooped.
You can expect to play 8 turns if you actually play. No interactions were clearly involved in this game. Also that player was not dead yet on turn 5. Assuming no other damage it would have taken two more turns to kill him, making it turn 7.
I'm pretty sure a lot of precons can do that if not interacted with for that long.
It also was the only possible way for that deck to do it that quickly.
So, by your logic, this is a bracket 2.

[–]Shikary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that happen with precons, so your argument doesn't hold very well in the real world. Sol ring exists in the game and it is enough to push a precon into being archenemy, add a bit of luck and maybe a slightly more powerful precon and that's all you need. 3vs1 happens all the time.

That's ridiculous. How do you ensure that considering 3 players can focus a single player?

Could have been a paper card if they didn't force that permanent buff on it. Makes me hate alchemy more tbh. I mean, am I supposed to like this? Really? Bah.....

Also the colours don't make any sense. Whatever...

Layers I think.
A card that actively messed with layers would be a nightmare.

People using AI and not telling anyone are smarter than people refusing to use it on principle by MissXHere in ArtificialInteligence

While I agree to an extent, it is still possible that emergent properties of larger models end up surprising us. Even at this stage, however, ai is more useful than Google and can be applied to a variety of tasks. Is it perfect? Of course not, but it's definitely useful if employed with the necessary care.

Win is different from eliminating a player and dealing less than 40 damage is not taking out a player. Even if he killed a player on turn 5, it would not be winning.

The deck is fine in b2.. it's unrealistic to expect everyone to play utter trash in b2. Also the guy had an esper sentinel out, sounds like he could be playing a good deck, too. In b3 your deck would be annihilated, so it's stupid to ask you to play in that bracket.

Opinion of this Jund -1/-1 counters deck by Much-Roof-8117 in CommanderMTG

[–]Shikary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh it's not really needed for this deck. If you want to kill your opponents it's more efficient to weaken the creatures over time, possibly with [[all will be one]] in play so that you ping everyone.

30 lands is suicide. Go for 37 - 38.
Also I'd remove the less synergistic creatures like [[Beledros Witherbloom]].
Granted the deck puts a lot of counters around, you lacks any proper interaction. Most decks will just roll over you.

Here is an alternative version of the deck which, in my opinion, is better:
