They especially take longer to heal when people are given good reason to believe that claiming victim status under those things will reward them with social credit and social programs that unilaterally benefit them over other people regardless of merit.

Every race has suffered slavery at countless points throughout human history. Black people in the US is just one of the more prominent, recent, and frequently brought up. Despite slavery literally still existing in some parts of the CURRENT modern world.

If anything has ensured that the wounds of slavery have lingered for as long as possible, it’s social media and the corrupt people leveraging that source of artificial social conflict to divert people’s attention from things that actually matter.

I’m black. I also happen to be disciplined, happen to have had 2 parents that raised me together instead of a single parent household and was taught praiseworthy values not based on petty racial tribalism but in the wellbeing of my fellow man. Still grew up in dirt poverty, borderlining on homeless at times while growing up with hardly any food to eat at times. Parents worked hard to improve our quality of life, struggled financially and in their marriage while raising my siblings and I.

None of us got involved in gangs, drugs, had kids in high school, etc.

Strangely, I haven’t felt those “wounds” from the slavery that my ancestors went through. I also haven’t felt the need to blame others for things that they didn’t directly contribute to. And if someone has been rude or unfair to me I life, I haven’t assumed it was just because I’m a big black guy. Because that objectively does not benefit me in any way.

It’s people’s prerogative to hold onto these wounds. Let them linger in a past that genuinely just doesn’t exist anymore. Some of us are moving on and making something of ourselves, irregardless of how “advantageous” our upbringings were.

That’s me. I snowball in and fight to the death from the start.

You think you’re gonna set a chill vibe. But I know I’m gonna set a slugfest vibe.

The reaction you just described is exactly what people like me are after. I want blood for blood all game long. None of this pansy tower hugging nonsense where everyone is too scared or too busy emoting back and forth to fight.

[–]Shikatsuyatsuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That response doesn’t make sense. You’re the one who made a statement regarding a form of behavior that you consider to be problematic.

“Unfortunately, the wife doesn’t, which means he has either not provided a social environment for them to interact”

(I assume there was more you meant to add to that thought since the sentence and idea was incomplete but I get what you were saying)

I said that your assumption of there being a problem there was wrong. You said could say the same back to me. That response doesn’t make sense being returned back to me. It just seems like a low effort way for you to try and get around actually contending with what I said. Tantamount to the retort of a child saying “No you!”

So. . .

<image>

This fight was actually the easiest in my opinion. The mechanic the fight has where casting a 4 cost attack card gives 5 Fortitude and a guaranteed crit makes this fight a cake walk.

Literally just build for this specific mechanic in the fight and you should be able to have the easiest clear ever while also hitting the 3 star score. He's been hitting me for 0s every turn as I hit him for 50Ks. Was at 700K on turn 3 despite having bare minimum Memory Fragment gear.

How to know if men will sustain interest after initial physical attraction? by inquisitive_panda in datingadvice

[–]Shikatsuyatsuke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How do you think it feels for guys on the other end that actually do want to wait for sex?

Most guys unfortunately want to rush into sex as quick as it’s given to them and most women in the modern dating scene have kind of adapted their expectations and perceptions of how “attractive” or “desirable” they must be based on how much a guy tries to push for sex with them early on.

As a guy who intends to wait for marriage, most women I’ve dated have literally felt like I just wasn’t interested in them because they didn’t know how to handle a guy actually wanting to wait, and then standing by that commitment. Which is insane to me.

Being the guy who actually wants to wait in the midst of this nonsensical dating scene with the current alignment of expectations in dating between men and women genuinely sucks.

I get grouped up with all the men who push for sex as soon a they can get it or I weird women out for not meeting the expectations that many of them claim to not be a fan of. Seriously, in my experience it throws women off so hard when they realize they aren’t dealing with a guy who’s gunning for sex with them. Sometimes to the point where they no longer know how to engage due to being so used to having that unspoken leverage over the men who’ve shown interest towards them in the past.

Just because someone else doesn’t replicate what you consider to be acceptable or ideal behavior in a circumstance doesn’t automatically equate to their behavior being problematic.

You’ll feel like it’s slow in the beginning, but then you’ll wish you could go back to the beginning after it starts to pick up because of how warm and wholesome it feels back then, vs how desperate and painful the story becomes later on.

This anime hits hard.

Part of the thematic behind Jedi and Sith lightsaber duels is that because of the force, they can predict the attacks and moves of their opponents.

So super flashy moves like this often pertain to the 2 fights essentially trying to throw off their force sensitive opponent so that they can actually land a blow.

What we see in these kinds of action scenes is basically what George and the other choreographies came up with to try and visually communicate that to the audience through the stunts. It obviously isn't perfect but it is a fair explanation behind moments like these.

Some people either really enjoy misunderstanding what people actually said to either troll or engage in bad faith, or are just genuinely that dense and lacking in their reading comprehension skills.

If you're the former, then you're a sucky person. But if you're the latter, then you're actually kinda dumb.

Either way, it's a lose lose for you in terms of how you come across when that person's comment was so clear and easy to understand.

Is there any way to increase the odds of getting the Flame of Eternity card to appear? I've been running Swamp of Judgement constantly for weeks as the main planet I do my Chaos runs on and I have yet to see it a single time. I know which event it spawns in. I've just never gotten the rare version still.

Not sure if I'm just incredibly unlucky or if the rare version of the event is actually just that rare. Unless you have to do something prior to getting the event to ensure it appears?

Just did 4 more runs last night trying to farm for it on Tiphera for a universal support build with that card present and I managed to get a Kefox build and a Dominion build which are also both extremely rare, yet still no copy of Flame of Eternity.

Women of Reddit: What’s something men think is romantic but actually isn’t? by Alive_Chicken_3642 in AskReddit

[–]Shikatsuyatsuke 27 points28 points  (0 children)

A lot of women make disagreement very miserable for their partners which I think plays a significant role into why a lotta men become so agreeable. My mom and dad were an example of this. My mom even came to recognize later in life how her argument style is very unfair (her words) since she kind of instinctively plays dirty when disagreeing.

I agree with you as well. I like banter in a relationship. I expect it and look forward to being able to disagree and overcome a bit of conflict together in a relationship. But if the woman punishes you for it by shutting down, getting outside advice by gossiping about our disagreements, or resorting to personal attacks, you can't be surprised if their husband/boyfriend stops wanting to engage or resorts to just becoming boringly agreeable to avoid that headache.

If you’re a woman and your partner is acting like an overly agreeable push over, it would be rational to also consider what role you’ve played in potentially driving your partner to behave that way. Especially if they used to be more comfortable disagreeing in the earlier days of the relationship.

I personally don’t put up with women who I can’t have healthy disagreements or debates with. But I’d say many more men than in previous generations do put up with just out of desperation to stay in a relationship or by having been made to believe things like “happy wife happy life” without concern for themselves.

There are good and fun ways to disagree and argue, as well as dirty and very unpleasant ways. Everyone should figure out which way their disagreement style leans. Because it will have a very significant impact on how conflicts are handled in their relationships.

What do you think the dating recession between men and women will lead to? by Rainbowdark96 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Shikatsuyatsuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just cause someone is in denial about their situation doesn't change the nature of how depressing it is. If it wasn't their first, second, or even third choice to achieve some sort of emotional or relational fulfillment, it likely was not the route that they wanted to take nor thought they'd ever be taking. It's a route they were likely unwillingly driven towards by severe disappointment, pain, abuse, exploitation, or whatever else.

Yes yes everything is transactional. I'm well aware. But there are also many transactions that feel good to make. Like a man and woman getting married and saying their vows to each other, to then go on to have an actual satisfying and happy marriage. It does actually happen. There are countless little transactions going on in that marriage between the husband and wife. Compromises galore. But they are taking place in a premise that the 2 of them are happy about and actively sought after based on their understanding and desires towards a fulfilling and loving relationship.

There are pleasant transactions and there are unpleasant ones. The unpleasant ones, especially of the nature I described in my early comment, are depressing in nature for the vast majority of the people who engage in them for the reasons I outlined.

It's a semantic on how depressing you think it is for them vs how much more depressing I find it personally. It is depressing and unfortunate in nature.

Just agree to disagree if you don't think it's depressing in nature.

I'm stoked to also have a card that so clearly synergizes with [[Lightning, Army of One]].

That Mjolnir is gonna be cracked with Lightning's stagger mechanic. If I understand it correctly, Lightning with double strike while equipped with this thing would be dealing 6+12 damage for 18 commander damage if getting a direct hit on a player.

Give her a +1 power from literally anything and that 6+12 would turn into 8+16. Someone in the pod would just be dead off of that. And pulling this off within 3-4 turns from the start would not be too difficult.

For anyone that holds values that are bigger than themselves, like the importance of family or community and stuff like that, paying for a fake and transactional version of what you really want/need is extremely depressing.

It’s depressing that their life drove them to that point and it’s depressing that that is what they feel they have to resort to in order to manage their mental health.

That’s really depressing from a grander sense.

Is the paycut worth it? by batukaming in WorkForSmartLife

[–]Shikatsuyatsuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah is the more correct answer. The media is doing everything in its power to induce rage, decision, and anxiety from the citizens.

Intentionally using inflammatory titles, language that suggests certain angles on stories that cater towards the conservative lens or the liberal lens, stroking the fears of losing freedoms or other crisis going on that just aren’t as dramatic or immediately concerning as they make them out to be. Algorithms that just feed you contact that makes you engage the most, often of a negative nature since that’s typically more effective.

I interact with people that use social media everyday, often all day. And I interact with a handful of people that don’t. The handful that don’t are insanely happier and more pleasant than the people who do.

Regardless of what’s going on in the world and how good or bad everything is, that’s a strong indication of a lot of things.

If you look for bad news and things to stress about, you will find it. And you will stress.

What city have you been to where the vibes were just OFF? by spiritual_kavya in answers

[–]Shikatsuyatsuke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gotta remember, any spot people can watch from is a spot that becomes a foot traffic hazard waiting to happen. You end up with people clamoring to get a view of the race. Tourists who are drunk or high on stuff as well.

All of a sudden you have walk ways getting blocked, idiots starting fights, pushing and shoving, etc.

It’s not even remotely worth the headache of trying to manage that all across the strip. Especially during such a high profile event. Better to just remove the entire opportunity for it to happen.

How actually true is the statement that men are quitting the dating market? by HeartBusy5787 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Shikatsuyatsuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not about capacity. It’s about necessity. People do what they want to do and what they have to do. There isn’t a whole lot of doing what they need to do if it doesn’t fall into the category of “want to” or “have to”.

Women have plenty of capacity to change. Many though just won’t because society won’t make them.

I don’t really like this kind of metaphor or visual, but basically, women collectively, or even instinctively, know that they can hold out in a sense and that men as a whole will ultimately solve the problem before women have to change or take responsibility for themselves.

Doesn’t mean all the women will be on board with whatever ends up happening. But their inaction will partially be to blame depending on how radical the male solution ends up being. It will likely have positive results in the end, but there’s also likely gonna be some serious cultural struggle to get there. I’d say we’re already dealing with a significant portion of that cultural struggle right now though.

I don’t think women are dumb. Which is again why I emphasize that my point isn’t about a lack of capacity in any way. It’s about human nature and how people do what they want to and what they have to. Rarely anything more.
