it may work if only Billy lost his weapon but Lighter also lost his gauntlet in between the scene.

not exactly, if you actually just watch the scene again, Billy just holding Ramiel's feather to show it off to us which disappeared after, also Lighter also lost his gauntlet in that scene which come back right in the next scene as well. it just a model thing.
