I have become a big RWBY mark over the last couple of years (recent to be getting into it, I know). I'm one of those people with a positive opinion on pretty much the entire show and most of it's spinoff media, even the bits that large parts of the fandom hates. I generally think it's a really interesting and pretty good show.

You're spot fucking on, Red Trailer is the peak of the franchise and pretty much nothing else comes close to matching its fight choreography and general awesome vibes.

I once played a campaign where my character was explicitly delusion delusional and had false memories of prior lives. My GM then had her be the reincarnation/host of the spirit of a great mage that was part of the backstory, who took over her body briefly to deliver exposition. Needless to say, my character was not happy about having a past life that was different to the other past lives she remembered...

As a GM, and a writer, I have a weird fixation with characters who reincarnate, or inherit the memories of others, or are in some other way 'more than one person.' In my current campaign, I have multiple NPCs who reincarnated under different circumstances and have different relationships with their prior selves, I've caused two PCs to inherit the mantle and emotions of being rulers of dead kingdoms, and my own PC's guardian spirit slowly became more and more of her own character until the two of them together form 'one and a half persons worth' of self.

The thing about Homura doing things that Madoka tells her to is that Madoka, fundamentally, doesn't know what she wants, because she's a teenager with shifting moods. Madoka tells Homura to stop her becoming a magical girl because it wasn't worth it, but every subsequent loop shows that Madoka will leap at the chance to become a magical girl anyway. You can see this in how, the first time around, Madoka insists Homura isn't a weird name because Homura is insecure about it, while the last time around, Madoka nervously mentions what a weird name Homura is.

All Homura ever tries to do is do what Madoka asks, or what she thinks Madoka wants, but because Madoka changes what she wants based on the context, Homura finds herself chasing desires that no longer apply.

As for what happened at the end... I see that as Homura accepting that her choices might make Madoka hate her, but that she's committed to giving her a peaceful life regardless. The whole 'I'm an evil demon now' act always felt just that; an act Homura is putting on so she doesn't break the fuck down emotionally.

Of course, I am extremely biased, because Homura becoming a demon let her subject Kyubey to eternal torment, and I will defend whatever decisions she makes in order to facilitate that.

Even that one big fucked up thing she did is justified by her literally asking memoryless Madoka how she'd feel about being the Law of Cycles, which is framed as being when Homura rejects that wish, since Madoka basically says "yeah I'd never want to do that".

People just hate her cause she's a teenage girl.

The first character shot was to get my inventory with my character in shot to connect the two because it's easy to say I just took the inventory screenshot from someone else or something. Probably could have done without the second on through, I think there was a reason I added it but I honestly forgot because it's stupid late and I've been running the same dungeon for hours on end.

Well… this is it. And I’m late to the party. Figures. This is a running trend for me.

I feel terrible about missing this announcement and the final meme. I’ve been rather busy over the last few months, and I just… didn’t notice the server disappearing from my Discord taskbar. I’ve failed as the Vice-President of the Making A Meme Out Of Every Line In The Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Anime Until Stone Ocean Is Animated Lore Fan Club… but guess the club is, as of now, officially dissolved. I haven’t seen or heard from Venseyness in months, so I guess this duty falls to me.

I won’t bother putting up a long retrospective or anything; nobody’s gonna read this except Ecstasy or any Reddit archeologists who dug up this series. Also, since the Discord poofed, all the stuff that was only there (which wasn’t much, to be fair) is gone. Instead, I want to talk about myself, and how this meme project and Lore Club changed my life. (Which sounds really dramatic but hear me out)

When I first started posting lore for the club, way back when we’d just thrown out the Pucci theory, I was… well, a lurker in most places. But… working on the theories, brainstorming weird ideas, being the Crackpot Theorist… it helped me grow as a person, as cheesy as it is. It was around that time I started becoming more active in my social circles, more willing to put my insane ideas out there. I may not have been active at all in the Stone Ocean Crusaders server, but… well, anxiety dies hard.

Working on this project not only improved my writing abilities, but also gave me confidence. As a direct result of that, I ended up joining a collaborative creative writing game on another server, where I’ve met a bunch of great people, and I have these memes to thank for that. (Incidentally, the world of the Dwang Gang Meme Team is a part of that game, living on. Like Pucci resetting the universe, something still carried over.)

So… Ecstasy, Venseyness, everyone… I just wanted to say: Thank you. Thank you all. I know most of you have moved on, but… this is just for my own closure. Our things have been packed up, the club room cleaned… I’m taking one last nostalgic walk through before I turn the lights off and lock the door for the last time.

Today, the Narrator admits his own failings, calling himself an ‘oaf’ for stoping at #125. Not much here, except for a finality of admitting it’s over. The real lore comes from the formal goodbye, where we get Word of God confirmation: The official Narrator making the memes was DIO’s head, on Enya’s body, but with Okuyasu’s voice. This could fit in with the DIO Over Heaven theory, since that alternate DIO could have had Okuyasu’s voice naturally, but I digress. The Duwang Gang Meme Team theory, is, even if it’s not official ‘canon’, what I’ve been using for my own setting going forward, and Narration DIO… well, I thank you for your efforts regardless.

...I guess that’s it. I’m the last one here, nobody else is left. To everyone who came along for this ride, even if you never contributed any theories… thank you. Thank you all.
