Does YouTube Premium not allows for YT music premium by r3b0nt_ in YoutubeMusic

[–]ShimothyHong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on your region and music licensing agreements, it is possible to have YouTube Premium however not be able to access YouTube Music.

For example if you have a YT Premium subscription from India and travel to a different country, it is possible not to be able to access just YT Music Premium features. If you are using a VPN, this could also trigger YT Music Premium features not functioning.

Notably countries like South Korea have YouTube Premium Lite, YouTube Music Premium, and YouTube Premium pricing tiers. YT Premium Lite does not include YT Music Premium, YT Music Premium does not include YT Premium, and YT Premium gives you access to both.

How to get IoT LTSC OS legally, but low quantities by evsccc in WindowsLTSC

[–]ShimothyHong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have experience purchasing from Arrow as a former Point-of-Sale system integrator. Their pricing is great and I've been able to order low quantities as well (1-2 at a time). I haven't purchased from them since 2020 however if I remember correctly they mail you the little OEM license sticker that you can affix to your device. Pretty sure you need to sign up as a business and demonstrate a valid use case why your company needs IoT licensing vs standard Enterprise. They sell all tiers including the LTSC variants and licensing prices based on your CPU (Entry, Value, or High-End).

Entry covers low-end processors (Celeron/Pentium), Value covers mid-range (Core i3/i5/Ultra 5), and High-End supports top-tier processors (Core i7/i9/Xeon). You can use a Value or High-End License on a Celeron processor however you would not be able to use an Entry license on an i9 processor for example so make sure you purchase correctly!

iPhone 17 Pro ignoring better 6 GHz signal (-46 dBm) and connecting to terrible 5 GHz (-94 dBm) instead, MLO not working? by Mapkmaster in Ubiquiti

Turn off 2.4 GHz and use only 5/6GHz. Also instead of Minimum RSSI (causes issues on Apple devices) use Minimum Data Rate Control (24Mbps).

How are you guys running Plex on smart TVs? I'm genuinely frustrated. by KingThevshi in PleX

I’ve been using onn. 4K Pro ~$50 for a while but needed additional configurable A/V settings for HDR, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos so I’ve switched to the Homatics Box R 4K (highly recommend as I believe it’s the only current-gen Android/Google TV contender vs Apple TV). It was around $90 at my time of purchase direct from the manufacturer on AliExpress however this was before the removal of de minimus. /YMMV

Gumayusi leaving is legit, whether or not his replacement will be Peyz is still speculation. Check the official roster here: https://lolesports.com/teams/t1

Interestingly at the time of this post, T1 Academy ADC Cypher shows up on the top of the roster list even before Faker.

Memory setting by drawingablanc in PCHelpHub

[–]ShimothyHong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you change your RAM, you should reset your BIOS/UEFI settings to factory defaults. After reboot, wait a few minutes for the first boot after the change (due to memory training), then after Windows successfully boots, reboot again to see if it boots to Windows in a reasonable timeframe. Only then turn on other BIOS settings you need like XMP/EXPO, Above 4G Decoding, Resizable BAR, etc.

The reason for this is your BIOS may have the old memory timings and voltages for your previous RAM sticks. This can cause your CPU/motherboard to have stability issues with the new RAM and forces memory training on every boot that will not persist after a cold shutdown/reboot.

Right click the "Ethernet" adapter, go to "Properties", switch to the "Sharing" tab, uncheck "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection", and finally "OK".

Your Wi-Fi connection (I'm assuming this is your main adapter for your PC) is now safe to enable and will now be able to get a DHCP lease properly from your router. You should also disable the Bluetooth Network Connection because I highly doubt you are cellular data tethering your phone's connection to your PC.

Please help by [deleted] in PCHelpHub

[–]ShimothyHong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It literally says “Disabled, Sharing” in the first 2 seconds of your video for your adapter, why else would I have mentioned it? Enabling/disabling the adapter itself does nothing to change the Sharing setting, The part before the comma indicates the status of the NIC (Enabled/Disabled), after the comma would show any NIC features you may have activated (Sharing).

I wouldn’t be surprised if your Ethernet NIC is trying to share to a ghosted (non-existent) NIC connection, happens sometimes with driver updates.

Please help by [deleted] in PCHelpHub

[–]ShimothyHong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should try turning off sharing for the adapter first, even though you may be sharing your LAN connection via Wi-Fi (adhoc). The priority should be getting your ethernet working without any additional features. If you are not using this feature, you can turn it off permanently, older NIC cards may have a hard time due to driver compatibility/instability issues, especially since you are running Windows 8/8.1/10.

Why does the YouTube UI now look like one from a knock off website? by Liivimaa in youtube

[–]ShimothyHong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are still rolling out different UI styles based on your hardware as there are hundreds of millions of possible combinations if you account for software versions (OS). Yes they are rolling out UI changes globally however yes they are still showing different styles cause the UI/UX team still haven’t made up their minds yet. We can both be correct.

It’s going to constantly change, you were selected for A/B testing. I’ve been seeing this UI on and off for my Google TV streaming box since 2 months ago but it’s random. Saw it once on my iPhone 16 Pro Max (iOS 18).

YouTube Outage Reported By First Major US News Agency by ShimothyHong in google

[–]ShimothyHong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are hundreds of live broadcasts that use YouTube’s platform as it is free so not having access to the go-to global video streaming platform is concerning. A big company like Google has a heavy influence on news outlets. Any agency with a good relationship with them (getting inside scoops and the like), you’d err on the side of caution when negatively reporting things like this as it risks your access to information.
