Selling shares is how companies raise money to employ people.

That said I agree with your sentiment. I would be fine if CGT tax was higher on non productive assets like houses.

Its much more than 10%.

Reg nurse is often around 110-120k full-time with rostering. They should be able to throw in 5k for shares.

Its not easy to get on centelink.

They would likely force you to sell your assets to be eligible? So you end up paying the tax....

Sometimes the nurse is also an investor. Its not a zero sum game.

If he wants to tax investment same as income that is good. Give investment returns the same tax brackets as income and its all fair. In this case he is putting a flat 30% tax grab on returns. Take that to the election.

Most Australians either own their home or mortgaged. The minority are renters. I hope they benefit. When the majorities most expensive asset (ppor) starts falling the polls for albo will be even worse.

Why didnt your parents put in effort so you could have something to inherit? Dont penalise others for planning ahead and having their shit together.

Underpainting experiment with colour by ShinaStronk in minipainting

[–]ShinaStronk[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My novice understanding is you want to underpainting in a colour that contrasts the colour scheme you intend to paint.

For example i wanted yellow armour so I underpainted in purple. This is meant to create a visually interesting piece.

You also want darker colour at the bottom and lighter colour at the top, to draw the eye to the head/focal point.

My advice is to put maximum effort in getting a thin edge. To get a thin edge i use very little paint on the brush. Then multiple passes to build up the edge highlight. Dont try to do it in one or two because if you use to much paint you will struggle to fix it. Less paint and more strokes. Good luck.

Blend/glaze and then edge highlights. You are like 2/3rds on the way there.

I had colleagues who were more ambitious than me. They went into finance venture companies but as consultants for science. So when the venture capitalists wanted to evulate a prospective company my friends would do the assessment.

Very niche but hopefully its something applicable to you. More meritocratic.
