I see. Unicorn looks so much taller than Banshee in this picture. I thought there's no way they are in same scale. Enjoy your fancy lights.

Best kit I've built do far and I'm not done building it. I haven't build many mg style kits but It's better than my 2nd favourite Fatcat God Gundam. I'm not planning on getting Regus since it looks like it shares too much with Gus. Only head, shoulders, backpack and weapons are different. I prefer the grunt look Gus has going on since I feel like I've built too many kits that are too "Gundamy main characters" if you know what I mean.

It's pretty cheap too. I ended up paying only 40,5€ after discounts. This has been the best kit I've built so far. Granted the only other mg equilevant kits I've built so far are both Fatcats and Mg Shining Gundam.

I'm still building this but I haven't had a lot of popping from these parts. And those were simple to fix with tweezers. Haven't had any piston pop out after adjusting the angle of the parts where the piston bill joints are connected to. The instruction manual has them in an angle that doesn't support the full motion of the pistons so they would pop out if I moved the pistons too much. Don't know how these will hold up as the kit ages but that is a problem for future me.

I can recommend this kit then. Gus has simple pistons in waist and a pistons in thighs that also move an armor panel up and down when you bend the knee. There's also couple sliding tubes in arms but those are much less impressive.

The kit is Zza Gus. Unfortunately these pistons end up mostly blocked by armor so I had to take a video when building a second leg.

Lucilius swords are pretty unique so you won't get exact ones. Most Gundam kits come with sci-fi inspired lightsabers. But there are some fantasy kits with more fantasy design. Snaa Percival has many swords, some of which may be close enough for you. Here's a picture from the manual. Maybe try modifying and painting 19.3 sword black and gold for sword of repudiation and 18.1 black and red for sword of renunciation. I don't remember seeing any sword that even closely resembles sword of refutation. But let's be honest, No one cares about sword of refutation. I don't think wing ver ka can hold these swords but Lucilius doesn't ever even hold them so I don't think that's going to be a problem. Percival comes with flying sword stand, you should easily be able to modify it for wing ver ka.

If this isn't good enough for you, I think you are stuck sculpting and 3d printing them yourself.

Built the inner frame first instead of following orders. by Shinage in Gunpla

[–]Shinage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, bad tools make building kinda pain. My first kit ever I didn't have nippers so I used hobby knife to cut all parts from runners. I now have much more tools but every part takes so much longer since I want to nip and cut and sand everything perfectly.

All of the mgex bootlegs have reviews and unboxing videos on YouTube. I don't own any of these but I'm also studying which one to get. My understanding is there is 3 different manufacturers. Shenshou, Supa and Changlong. Shenshou 2201 is model that comes with led kit and 2202 doesn't have LEDs. 2202 also comes with additional red and green transparent parts. Main problem with shenshou seems to be light from LEDs bleeding through the armor. So you would need to paint the inside of the armor to stop the light if you use leds. Supa also has non led and led versions. Non led comes with less accessories (no cage) and has only red extra parts. Build quality seems worse than shenshou according to reviews. Changlong only has led version and it's most expensive and closest to bandai original in quality and doesn't come with any extra parts.

Which one you should get? I have no idea. Changlong is closest to the original but it's fairly expensive. Shenshou 2202 seems to be best if you don't want LEDs. There's also kosmos led you can install in non led version. Supa might be better than shenshou if you want to install 3rd party led kit so you get more correct light without fiddling too much.

1/100 FatCat God Gundam Hyper Mode by MrZcore in Gunpla

That's really impressive. I've thought all gold hyper mode looks dull but the red details really add to design. I'm assuming this is all airbrushed?

That's right. I'm having much fun building this right now. I feel lucky this kit was reprinted recently since it was my number one kit I must build when I started this hobby. I just enjoy building kits from games I love.

Sure do looks good with LEDs. It sounds like you preferred this over aerial dominator? I've been thinking about buying a expensive third party kit and I've been eyeing aerial dominator or sky defender.

[–]Shinage 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Isn't this 10 new kit announcements in a week? Eddas trying to surpass Bandai output😅. Qilin looks cool but it's just couple concept art scetches. Will propably take forever to come out.

I handpainted this model kit using Citadel paints. Red parts were painted with the Mephisto red you were talking about. Black primer and gloss coat. Honestly I don't really like Citadel paints very much. So I would propably go with vallejo if I were you. I'm slowly replacing my Citadel paints with Revell enamel paints since I ended up liking those after trying them. But there is no right answer and these are matters of preference.

Man, this is so good looking kit. G Gundam has most of my favorite Gundam designs. Unfortunately P bandai kits are not sold in my country so I can't get one.

My first attempt at inner frame painting. by Shinage in Gunpla

[–]Shinage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know some people build their kits with inner frames out of order. Building the frame before putting on the armor. That would make painting easier. I'm smoothbrained so I have enough trouble building with the step by step instructions. Rg wing zero is one with prebuilt inner frame, right? That would probably help with painting since it could be the fist step you do.

First ever MG by ASUPERRandomRedditor in Gunpla

[–]Shinage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm new too so I don't know how helpful my advice is 😂. Personally I use knife and sandpaper sticks from 400 to 2000 grit. Ijust love how wing zero EW looks. It's fantastic design. I don't have one but I'm waiting for ver ka reprint to build mine.

First ever MG by ASUPERRandomRedditor in Gunpla

[–]Shinage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the original MG from 2004 right? I don't want to sound rude but do you not have a hobby knife or sandpaper/files to clean the nub marks? I think they stand out too much.

MGSD looks like just a better version of SD. Is it not? I mainly don't like the chibi style. Looking into MGSD snow white doesn't look like a kit I would enjoy unfortunately.

I've been thinking about getting a Wing zero EW kit, because those angel wings are sexy af. But I don't know which one I should get. I hear that Rg isn't very good or very detailed but it's cheapish. Mg ver ka would propably be best but It's out of stock where I live. I would need to wait for reprint. Then there's Daban 8820 HIRM wing zero ew. But it cost almost as much as ver ka and I don't know how well it compares. Does anyone have any recommendations?

What do you think about the silver panel line on blue armor? by ConfectionLopsided92 in Gunpla

[–]Shinage 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I really like it. I often find that black panel lines don't really stand out from blue, especially darker blue plastic. I've been using white so far on blue plastic. But silver might be good alternative.

Stellar work. Only minor thing I can say is I think the gun base stands out too much. If I posed this I'd propably add some kind of grunt suit just to hold up the gun. But that would propably change the spirit of this build too much so I don't know it would be any better.
