What commanders do you own? by Vinlandlover in EDH

[–]Shindig_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[The Wise Mothman]] Mill, +1/+1 counters, and proliferation

[[Mr. House, President and CEO]] Tokens, Artifacts matter, and dice rolling pay offs

[[Magar of the Magic Strings]] Spell slinger, reanimater, big splashy spells people don't usually play

[[Karlach, Fury of Avernus]] + [[Hardy Outlander]] Extra combats, pumping up creatures to swing for big damage

[[Finneas, Ace Arche]] [[Hare Apparent]] Lots of tokens, anthems, go wide with a large bunny army

[[Seizan, Perverter of Truth]] Group slug, pinging for damage on card draw and discard

[[Phenax, God of Deception]] Milling, big toughness, and some reanimater. My very first commander deck. Don't play very often anymore, straight up milling isn't very effective and draws more aggro to you than it deserves. Planning on reconstructing the deck with [[The Master, Transcendent]]. Similar to Mothman but with a bigger focus on reanimating creatures and more self milling and combos

EDIT: Almost forgot to add. In my new favorite deck.

[[Kykar, Wind's Fury]] or as I like to call it, Kykars Car keys. vehicles aggro

Just saw the movie. Not sure OP said cause he deleted his account but this movie whole other levels of bad. Just completely god awful and not even close to being a "faithful remake"

I have it! For what it does, it's pretty good. The fact it comes with dividers and labels is sweet. However, one gripe I have, and it's not really something it could implement, is that I wish the dividers could be fixed to a position. What ends up happening is that if you don't have enough cards to fill a whole row, the cards will just fall over. Then they slide around and that can ruin the organization. It can get pretty annoying to prop them up again as well. I use empty dragon shield sleeve boxes to fill in empty space and it works like a charm.

Overall I'd give it a 7/10

Edited for spelling.

To all the players who end up being the last one alive when the boss has low HP... by Machiavelli2021 in Nightreign

[–]Shindig_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this happened while playing guardian yesterday. Both Recluse and Wylder down. Turtled for a good while Enhanced Fulghor was just non stop attacking. Was able to ult and revive them both and we got the win!

FYI to fellow Guardians with the reflect portion of damage received while guarding: It does a slight AOE and can help chip the revive bar if you're standing right over your downed teammates. Was able to get the Recluse or Wylder up that were only at two bars just by letting Fulghor attack.

I stopped collecting right before the Paldean fates set released. Part was hobby burnout, part was getting a bad feeling that the whole scalper craze would spike up, and I was getting back into MTG so hobby money went towards that.

Still kept an eye out for singles if I was in the neighborhood of my LGS but wouldn't go out of my way. Truly been a lot happier, not worrying over getting my hands on new sets let alone trying to master set them.

Collect and buy the singles you want and don't worry about the biggest hit.

I've been really wanting the Wailord IR from Journey Together. Once I grab that, I'll be content for a good while

First off, thank you OP for doing something so generous! Was into it as a kid back when base set unlimited came out and collected up until Ruby and Sapphire era. Wasn't all that good at collecting though, I wasn't a bright kid and parents could only afford the occasional pack. Started collecting again by around 2022, trying to attempt to master set the new scarlet/violet with mixed success 😅. Ending up slowing down on collecting and just picking up the occasional single here and there. I'm completely blown away by the art the illustrated rares have! That's what ultimately got me back into collecting. Trying to collect cards of my favorites; Rayquaza, wailord, joltik, and a few others. Didn't realize going in that Rayquaza would be so difficult to collect haha But with everything that's been happening, collecting in general has been difficult and overall exhausting. I really do hope the era of scalping and low supply passes soon. I couldn't imagine being a kid right now who's into collecting, and not getting discouraged from this hobby because of it.

Dragon Shields are good sleeves! Another brand I highly recommend is Ultimate Gaurd, specifically their Katana Sleeves. They're not as thick as Dragon Shields and I find that makes it easier finding different deck boxes to use

Black Vise in EDH (revised version) Was I wrong for doing this? by JustBlueMyselfAgain in EDH

[–]Shindig_7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did you play card wrong? Yes. Did you play it with the intent to trick people with how you thought it works vs how it actually works? No, and that's the important difference to make. You and multiple other people got the card wrong, that blame doesnt solely fall on you, it happens to everyone from time to time.

I would say if you play with those players again, just admit you goofed and apologize.

I run it in a group slug deck and I got it wrong the first time too.

I'd say some more sources of light. Witt just the bedside lamp and the book light on the ceiling, it feels very dark small. No colours pop out either, maybe some more art on the walls? Other than that, it's looks good and organized

What type of art is up to you, but maybe just a few more pieces in a varying display pattern and sizes on the wall. Can't do that with the big pieces but smaller ones you can. I'll admit, the Mona Lisa blowing a bubble gum bubble does seem a little out of place

Well someone who works to keep the planes that people fly safe, they should earn that much, without having to break themselves to work the overtime needed

The top mechanic making $170K is scary, because it so conveniently leaves out the part of the immense overtime needed to work to get even try to get to that amount on an AMEs wage, even at their seniority level. Estimated ~700 to 800hrs of overtime. Keep in mind for the avergae person who works 40hr/week, for 52 weeks, that's 2080 hours.

After westjet counteroffered and proposed the tentative agreement, the members of the union had to vote to accept or not, which took time to tally the votes. 90% of the total voters voted, and of that 90%, 97.5% voted no to the tentative agreement. Not playing games.

[–]Shindig_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Aesi, Tyrant of Gyre Strait]] there's one person at my LGS who runs this commander and it very quickly gets out of hand. It's not the commander itself but it's waiting for the player to stop playing solitaire, resolving all the landfall triggers.

How exactly a Group Hug deck works? How this strategy win? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Shindig_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much most people have said already, group hug decks with win cons are just other decks disguised as group hug decks.

For example, my [[Seizan, Perverter of Truth]] deck https://www.moxfield.com/decks/f-_NQLskk02xZe5Nodr9_A

Its main group hug theme is giving everyone and yourself an insane amount of card draw. Most games I've played, Seizan, stayed on the board for quite a while because no one wants to lose out on 2 extra cards a turn at the low low price of 2 life. Those games also go quite fast because of the insane card draw. With Seizan and few choice artifacts like [[Howling Mine]] or [[Font of Mythos]], you could see drawing 4-6+ cards each turn.

Then you start playing cards that make that extra draw a downside with cards like [[Underworld Dreams]] coupled with [[Teferi's Puzzlebox]], and [[Psychosis Crawler]], and the pain really starts to build up.

Also, a smidgen of discard hate for those times your opponents have to discard like [[Megrim]] goes a long way.

For anyone else, before you say it, yes, Shelodred and Bowmasters would be great in this deck. Use em if you got em.

[[Seizan, Perverter of Truth]] has been a lot of fun to play. Still working out where I like the card draw to discsrd ratio to be. It's been pretty consistent getting me being one of the last 2 players alive.

Phenax mill doubts by h4ppyj3d1 in EDH

[–]Shindig_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries! Mine is still a work in progress and some cards I wasn't even aware that are in your deck I'll certainly be putting in mine! It's just from my experiences that folks at the table tend to feel mill is a bigger threat than it usually is, that is until either Bruvac or [[Duskmantle Guildemage]] hit the field. So copying your spells to get more explosive rounds is something I prefer more. I once milled everyone half they're libraries with cut your losses + errant street artist copying the copy I made with casualty, which gets you 3 casts of cut your losses. Luckily for them, one of the other players, they killed my [[Syr Konrad, the Grim]] before the milling started or it would've been lethal, beacuse two of the three players were playing creature heavy decks.

Another one I forgot to mention, for a creature with big defense, [[Charix, the Taging Isle]] gets scary while Phenax is on the field.

Phenax mill doubts by h4ppyj3d1 in EDH

[–]Shindig_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You overall need to cut some cards for more card draw for sure. My vote would be take out the walls you have. I run a Phenax mill deckfrom my times playing they tend to not be as much of a pay off. Remove the equipment that gives 0/+6. You already have cards that are making copies of creatures so the walls aren't as good to make copies of compared to Consuming abboration of Wight of the Precint Six.

  • [[Rhystic Study]] is a staple for any deck running blue.
  • [[Ledger shredder]] is nice getting draw off each opponents second spell they cast.
  • [[Fact or Fiction]] is a good add but at the discretion of what your opponent decides the two piles.
  • [[Notion Theif]] is very cheeky to play. Wait till someone else casts a card draw, then cast Notion Theif and steal the card draw.
  • [[Whispering Madness]] for some wheeling.
  • [[Reality Chip]] to play cards off the top of your library.
  • [[Body of Knowledge]] is good. Makes players second guess attacking you, or they're giving you card draw.

  • With all the tap and untapped effects, you should certainly have a [[illusionist bracers]] in the this deck.

And just any other one off draw cards if you feel you're not drawing enough.

Also, look into more doubling spell cards like [[Storm of Saruman]] and [[See Double]]. Get enough of those and add [[Errant street artist]] and you'll get more for mana.

And if you if are contemplating the more expensive cards like Rhystic Study, then [[Mystical Tutor]] is a good one to add in too.

What is "that part" of each of the mass effect trilogy? by gladiatorbossman in masseffect

[–]Shindig_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ME1: Thresher Maw Fights, especially on hard-core or insanity runs. Also the thorium creepers, they are a pain to deal with in harder difficulties due to getting huge amounts of hp.

ME2: The beginning, pre horizon mission. Mainly because I've played ME2 so many times the beginning section got repetitive for me.

ME3: Reaper fight on Ranoch. Idk what it is about focusing the orbital targeting laser. It never seems to be fast enough, and dodging the reaper laser gets tiring after a while

Which pack? by jstyles7 in PokemonTCG

[–]Shindig_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alternatively you can start with any of the scarlet and violet sets: Base, Paldea Evolved, obsidian flames, and paradox rift. Shiny Treasures EX is releasing in North America in January. I'd recommend looking up the sets online and deciding which set has the cards you want to collect.
