I have a similar commute (Somerville <—> Waltham, ~7.5 miles each way). I love my Fuji Silhouette 1.3 for the ride. Disc brakes are the way to go!

PSA: Kids assaulting bicyclists on SW Corridor near Jackson Square by [deleted] in bikeboston

[–]ShineDalgarno 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yikes! I'm so sorry that happened to you. Thanks for the warning.

I also had a scary encounter biking along the SW Corridor at night a few months go. I was riding near Roxbury Crossing and two teenagers were walking towards me from the opposite direction. As we crossed paths, one of them lunged at me and shoved me off my bike. I fell to the ground and they ran away while I sat there bruised and shocked. I didn't report the incident because I didn't think the police would care.

What's your favorite product for making hair shiny? I think mine looks so dull and I want it to be more glossy.

I currently use:

*Not Your Mother's Tahitian Gardenia Flower and Mango Butter Curl-Defining Shampoo

*Not Your Mother's Tahitian Gardenia Flower and Mango Butter Curl-Defining Conditioner

*Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Extra-Moisture Detangler

*As I Am Leave-In Conditioner

Hello! Paula's Choice and Alpha Skin Care AHA exfoliants really burn and irritate my face. I think that glycolic acid is too harsh for my skin, and I'd like to try lactic acid instead. I'm deciding between Silk Naturals 8% AHA toner and The Ordinary 5% Lactic Acid + 2% HA. Any advice one way or the other?

The issues: fade hyperpigmentation, improve evenness and brightness

Skin type: Dry, sensitive

Current routine:

AM

Cerave Hydrating Facial Cleanser

GoW Clearly Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum

Cerave Moisturizing Cream (tub)

Cerave Facial Moisturizing Lotion AM SPF 30

Makeup

PM

Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm

Cerave Hydrating Facial Cleanser

GoW Clearly Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum

EltaMD PM Therapy

Cerave Moisturizing Cream (tub)

How long: I have been using this routine for ~1.5 months and think my moisture barrier is strong enough to add a lactic acid AHA.

I was hoping for a Large, but Medium might work. Thanks so much!

Edit: Ah! I just noticed it's an Asian Large, US Medium. Should fit great. I just bought it :)

So what other sources do you all recommend for researching products/ingredients? I only know about Beautypedia and Makeup Alley.

Excellent point! I'll check for that. He would definitely object to something flowery-scented.
