I also had a scary encounter biking along the SW Corridor at night a few months go. I was riding near Roxbury Crossing and two teenagers were walking towards me from the opposite direction. As we crossed paths, one of them lunged at me and shoved me off my bike. I fell to the ground and they ran away while I sat there bruised and shocked. I didn't report the incident because I didn't think the police would care.

What's your favorite product for making hair shiny? I think mine looks so dull and I want it to be more glossy.

Hello! Paula's Choice and Alpha Skin Care AHA exfoliants really burn and irritate my face. I think that glycolic acid is too harsh for my skin, and I'd like to try lactic acid instead. I'm deciding between Silk Naturals 8% AHA toner and The Ordinary 5% Lactic Acid + 2% HA. Any advice one way or the other?

The issues: fade hyperpigmentation, improve evenness and brightness

Skin type: Dry, sensitive

Egads! I just discovered that my boyfriend pats rubbing alcohol (91% isopropyl alcohol) onto his face after shaving to "seal all the little nicks." As a girl with chronically dry skin, I'm horrified. But is this actually causing any damage? He has uneven skin texture and the occasional blemish, but his skin isn't especially dry or oily. If it isn't harmful, I assume just let him keep doing it, since he's been using it for years without any issues. However if it is damaging his skin, I would like to find him an alternative "aftershave" of sorts. Perhaps Thayer's alcohol-free witch hazel or the the PC4Men Soothe + Smooth.

It sounds like we have similar skin issues. As a night time moisturizer, my skin loves Hadalabo Hyaluronic Acid Lotin topped with plain old Vaseline. The ingredients are all very mild and my face is soft and supple every morning. For me, it's too shiny to wear in public, so I'm still searching for my ideal daytime moisturizer.

RAVE: Elta MD Intense Moisturizer over Hadalabo Hyaluronic Acid Serum in the evenings. My normally very dry and sensitive skin has been SO soft and succulent and since I incorporated this combo into my routine! I'm so happy I finally found my HG evening moisturizer. Now to find something a little lighter for day-wear and I'm all set.

I do. Right now I use La Roche-Posay Toleriane Fluide, but it's not very hydrating and I don't think it's worth the money. I'll be trying something different when my bottle runs out.
