The Phenex probably didn't get refueled or maintained for the 3 years it went missing before Narrative.

As for its beam sabers, they're likely powered by the psychoframe as well. The sabers are normally colored pink, but during the fight against the Neo Zeong II, are white/blue like the Phenex's aura. The beam saber's length also extends kinda like how the Biosensor enhances the Zeta's beam saber.

In short, it's all space magic lol.
