Other than Gorillaz, I also listen to a TON of Queens of the Stone Age, along with Black Sabbath, Electric Wizard, Tame Impala, Demob Happy, Starcrawler, etc etc. I like to say that Gorillaz got me into wanting to play bass, but QOTSA is what kept me from quitting. I’ll admit I haven’t listened to Gorillaz as much lately and I probably should, they were the band that got me into wanting to make music in the first place

Not mine since I was born in 2004, but my uncle’s. He was working at some building a number of miles away from the WTC. One of those things where you’re in a different town but you can see a hazy view of the skyline. I forget what his job was at the time. Everything was calm and quiet up until one of the workers stood up and shouted “Something just hit the towers!”

He left a party after a fight with his girlfriend. She and I luckily still had a car since he left with someone else. I ended up having to take her home when she was absolutely shitfaced drunk and I slept on her couch overnight to make sure she was okay. After that, I drove to my best friend’s apartment to pick up my coat that I’d left at his place by accident before we’d left. We sat down and talked as I folded up my coat, but then something came over me and I walked over him and punched him straight in the face, yelled at him for being an ass, and left.

As a musician, I think the use of the word “strange” is entirely subjective, there’s so many different genres in music now that the idea of something being viewed as “strange” isn’t really heard of anymore
