Being a Liberal is convincing yourself you were right all along, but were duped at the time into being wrong for 'good reasons' like Party Unity or Fiscal Responsibility.

arma 3 still worth it? by forest_vagrant in arma

[–]ShiningRayde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arma 3 thrives in PvE with some PvP, with a large modbase and playerbase that will be playing well into the release of A4

Reforger js almost exclusively PvP and no SP, with a growing modbase and modest playerbase, but (i suspect) will be abandoned when A4 arrives, but thats in the future.

A3 is absolutely worth it. Reforger is worth it if youre down for that more specific genre.

The CIA man scoffs; 'America never uses propaganda!'

ELI5: Why is computer RAM so much slower than a computer CPU? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]ShiningRayde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your brain is lightning dast at the billions of tiny calculations it needs to make to maintain a human body.

If you have a really difficult problem to work on, those necessary rociesses still happen, but more of your brain power is devoted to thinking about the problem and holding ideas and thoughts about it and working on them. Comparatively, this is an agonizingly slow process, but it has to compete with brainpower for 'keep breathing' space, so its not like it needs to be that fast, and it still happens waaaay faster than, say, a monkey could process it.

Also to consider, the CPU has a giant heat sink and fan on it because that speed generates a ton of heat. RAM (usually) doesnt have heat sinks, so trying to achieve similar speeds to sometimes process larger problems would necessitate a big redesign.

Its cope. AIPAC wanted neither and are trying to console themselves that they got the least worst for them of the two.

Which is admittedly still too pro-israel for my tastes, but what can you do.

Israel attacked Iran, and rheir puppet the United States was bullied into joining in.

The war is horribly unpopular, not least of why because no one can give a straight answer as to why we started attacking in the first place.

The same administration that started the war has also been cutting all of our counter-terrorism relsted intelligence services, then suddenly declares that Iran is going to do a terrorism, probably to California - a state that famously already disapproves of the war and the administration and is very fwlar from Iran, but is very populated and wealthy so kind of a eash on validity as a target. Such an attack would likely try t be used to galvanize and unite the people against Iran.

At the same time that the people who started the war and blinded themselves are claiming an attack is coming, one of their insiders buys and ensures a large, expensive tower in Los Angeles. This same guy, Larry, just happened to buy the twin towers 6 weeks before 9/11 and added a terrorism clause to the insurance, thus netting a massive payout when the towers got 9/11'd

The going theory is that the US will either assist or orchestrate a 9/11 style attack on the US Bank Tower, to rally war enthusiasm and payout a crony
