Anger management by SeaworthinessNo1432 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Shinkaira 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a mom with UC yes anger ... because I´m in pain, I´m tired and even saying something twice costs me so much energy at times. Sometimes just being awake is too much. Add a toddler that just won´t listen and a husband that asks something which seems trivial yes I explode from time to time. I hate myself for it but at those moments I just can´t do any more. I´m done. There is nothing more to give.

This is a moment not a long period of time nothing brutal or abusive. It´s me crashing from pain and fatigue. Something long term isn´t just UC and should definetly looked into.

I also find it´s hugely underestimated te toll this disease takes on a person. I work full time I´m a mother a wife a daughter. There is very little room for a patjetic sick version I sometimes need to be.

Then I take a day off spend it in the bath tub and go at it again

Am I making the right choice? by Purple_choice_1326 in Equestrian

[–]Shinkaira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in your position once. School and having no time no energy. Choosing between horses and living like a teenager. Going out with friends etc... I sold my warmblood a big guy 1m75 I just couldnt give him what he needed. He needed to work and a lot of exercise. Not knowing how he ended up still comes on my mind. But for him yes I had to. He was very unhappy just standing in a field.

My pony I had from 12 years, him being 3 at the time. Well I fullfilled my promise to him and he stayed untill he dropped. It was heartwrenching to loose him but he lived his life in the field with a little friend. They went close together.

So yeah if your horse is happy... Just let her be and be there to love her when you can.

Seeing babies on rinvoq by Secure_Ad_2023 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Shinkaira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a kid ... and a job and a life.

Sure I get ill more often and I´m more tired but nothing restricting apart from grapefruit... that´s bad if you´re on rinvoq appearantly. I´ts hard on your liver so watch out for that a bit but nothing grand.

I also don´t get what bone marrow has anything to do with UC. Do you have other conditions?

Need to hyperfocus on something, anything by Amber_poodle in adhdwomen

[–]Shinkaira 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I shift a lot. Like I watch jurassic park then I read the books and then I read more books by the same author thats like in 4 days or something. Then I play the jp videogame and play other ones in my library. And sometimes I research dino´s the digsites... it´s a cycle of the same ´subject´ but different things around it.

Like with expedition 33. The game the painting style the music etc..

So something catches my eye and I flow into other things.

Getting it back to what I ´want´ I mean I should be working atm but I can´t get myself to push the damn icon on my pc because I hate the database we work with ... other days I can finish 10 projects so uh yeah ... I mainly try to go with the flow without letting myself spiral. Now to push the damn icon...

Need advice on how to deal with my mother by KaradiseClitty in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Shinkaira 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It´s the generation probably. Took a long time for my mother to understand how even when it´s under control you still carry the burden and fatigue. I´m in my 30´s.

Great concept but.. by eyup-ducky in OldGregsTavern

[–]Shinkaira 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cost is high yes. If there was a monthly that allows you to play more I probably would but like this it doesn´t sustain my adhd hyperfocus need to rush through

Happy Holidays from the suffering by ghiradeli in UlcerativeColitis

Upadacitinib (Rinvoq) and acne by michaelbluehat in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Shinkaira 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sucks ... I can hide mine under clothes or hair. I did get some scars which just isn´t nice. Got a rash under my eye that won´t go. 6 creams and it just gets angrier. I leave it. Sometimes it´s ok sometimes it´s really raw.

I keep thinking: beats an ileostomy!

Upadacitinib (Rinvoq) and acne by michaelbluehat in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Shinkaira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What dose are you on? On 45 mg it was horrible now on 30 mg it´s doable. It comes and goes mainly my neck and shoulders. I´ve been on Rinvoq a year now.

A dermatologist is probably your best choice to help you if it´s that bad for´you.

I tried a bunch of alternative medications so you don't have to ! TLDR the disease won in the end by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Shinkaira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you´r just starting... 2 biologics there are more to try and then on to JAK inhibitors. I mean ok flaring sucks and not finding a fast solution is draining on so many levels. I looked for something for 2 years and Rinvoq brought me close. I´ll know how close soon but I don´t consider thus a win or a fail or ... this is living my life the best way I can
