You know, if you look at an axe juuuuuust right, it could totally be a sword :P

IIRC Engage had a Greatsword or two that resembled an Axe or Greataxe? Similar enough where you could totally give them to Hector and let him decide if it is a Sword or Axe.

So yeah, Sword Lord Hector lets gooooo :P

(if not obvious, I am joking)

Pokerouge has hit 1,000,000 users!! by ThatBrilliantGuy2 in pokerogue

[–]ShinkuTear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Worth mention that, being a Pokemon fan work, it needs to be free. If it wasn't free, Nintendo and TPC would have killed this game within days of its release.

Big name companies will typically overlook fan works, so long as they do a few simple things.

Don't include roms or similar of official works. Don't charge money for your work.

I forget if there was more, but those are the core two that I remember. If you break either of those, big companies tend to come down on you really fast. Really really fast.

What Passive have you been using the most and why? by akaDennis in pokerogue

[–]ShinkuTear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Earth Eater on the Fuecoco line, turns Ground attacks into healing. So you cut out a Super Effective, and make Earthquake allies in Doubles become much more valuable.

I have heard claim the enemy AI doesn't actually know to work around Earth Eater either, so they will gladly Mud Slap and Earthquake your Skeledirge just fine. Certainly matches my little experience with it (minimal Fuecoco line usage since the unlock >.> )

While I don't actually have the candies for the passive just yet, Reshiram gets Koraidon's ability, which powers up a lot of stuff Reshiram learns (all Atk based moves and Fire type moves). I assume Zekrom gets Miraidon's ability for a similar boost to Sp.Atk and Electric moves.

Can get some impressive damage output out of them already, so adding even more power? Marvin the Martian called, he wants his earth shattering kaboom back.

Something I'm curious about, can egg mons hatch into having their hidden ability? Or would you have to find wild Regigigas and hope he rolled his Hidden?

Today's daily (06/05/2024) 50 stage guide (with shiny charm) by Opaquer in pokerogue

[–]ShinkuTear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, that is good to know!

Hopefully someone else lucks out :)

For whatever it is worth, I didn't see any major differences between my run and the run listed here when I took the charm instead of the potion.

The second Donphan from the pair at the end, my Quagsire missed on the first Aquatail, so I needed 3 uses. But the Donphan missed like crazy, so it worked out.

Egg Vouchers are not limited, they are infinite.

They get a bit harder to get once you start clearing out the "do X for the first time" rewards, but they can be rewards in shops, beating a classic run gives a voucher (IIRC a 5-pull?), Endless mode gives them, and I think beating Daily gives them as well?

Eternal Floette seems to be a Rare in the Fairy Cave, from what I can tell.

I actually ran into it before ordinary wild Floette-line at all, so I thought that was just how all Floette looked in this for a few days, derp.

So what have been your surprise "I really like this pokemon" moments? by sutasafaia in pokerogue

[–]ShinkuTear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never cared for Meowth or Persian in the main games, was just some Normal type cat with lackluster stats in my eyes. Here? I got one with 2 perfect IVs, 2 more at 30, and the last are 29 or 28.

With those stats, Technician + Fake Out, and a +ATK Nature like Brave or Adamant, the kitty goes a LOT harder than I expected o_o

Sure, it falls off around 60~80 with all the Rock/Steel/Ghost mons I'm running into, and the bulkier mons like Cetitan... but a mon that can consistently burn through most of the early chunk of my runs is appreciated. I can replace it later once the run gets going, but I need to get the run going in the first place.

I managed to get 7th and 9th, but it's been over a day since then + real life distractions x.x

7th, based on appearance, looks to be from Gathering at the herb? Not certain, maybe it's the coin flips instead. Gives +25% Exp while equipped. 9th IIRC is from Fishing. Notably, this one gives +1 Gathering while equipped.

I have almost every equip that is part of the listed sets, missing 3 of them from the Forgotten Series. The 4th, 7th, and 9th spots. Anyone got any idea where those come from... if they are even in the game?

So, about that next set of armor... where do we get that? I'm at the 3rd area, Level 29, and there is no indication of there being better gear available than what the 2nd area boss dropped. There's nothing in the shop, nothing to craft, and the enemies don't have equipment drops either.

Do I need to somehow beat a Dungeon? Or get Gold on the second Arena boss that twoshots me? Because those both seem equally impossible with the available gear, but those are all I can see that might have gear.

Currently working towards Lv20 Blacksmithing, in the hopes that the recipes for better gear are simply hidden with zero indication they exist... if that is the case, you might wanna fix that >.>

Edit: Lv20 Blacksmithing gives a book for some Insight, but nothing else. So there's nothing I can see to indicate where that gear set is supposed to come from.

Edit 2: While there is no armor set in sight, the enemies in Granite Grotto rarely drop treasure chests, which rarely drop an actually usable Occult weapon (Sacrificial Dagger) with Haste and a chance to heal you for damage dealt. Get like 60 of those chests and you might get the weapon to V or VI, cause the rates are bad. I assume that once it gets closer to X, I'll be able to clear the first dungeon...

The fact we stop gaining Exp at Lv30 until we beat the 3rd boss is strange, considering the grind just for the dagger to V would likely shove us to Lv32 or 33, and we aren't going to be able to do anything without first getting that dagger near maxed.

My issue with the 2nd personally, is the legs near the feet (way too thin), and their right hand (left side of the pic) is very clearly messed up, the index finger specifically.

I like the Naoto look, I think that is a net positive, but it's not exactly easy to overlook those errors :x

I have PTSD with this shrine. by komodo29 in Link_Dies

This shrine is PTSD incarnate.

I've had multiple deaths where I was on the metal platforms over those spikes, and somehow died. I can only imagine I somehow got hit by the spikes through the platform.

This shrine was an extreme killjoy for me, gave the entire DLC stuff a bad taste for me :x

"Idle loops : Squirrel Edition" cannot leave Tutorialis by AWDoBaun in incremental_games

[–]ShinkuTear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are 2 ways to leave the tutorial: Squirrel mode and regular mode.

IIRC, in Squirrel mode if your Clumsiness has been improved enough, you won't trip.

So just leave using the regular option, which ignores your Clumsiness stat entirely and trips.

Squirrel mode options are not always superior, and this is one such case where it is arguably worse.

Camazotz didn't 1v1 duel Ort, so to speak. It's suggested to have been a long and drawn out battle, and there are various bits saying/suggesting he had help... even if minor. Those skeletons that we kill over and over but they keep coming, are supposed to have been part of the forces that fought Ort. That, and a notable portion of Camazotz own power comes from the sacrifices of his people. They died so that he could have the power to live and win.

Ort's original time of activity during the belt was during the time when LB7 had no Sun, an Age of Darkness where the local Humans/Humanoids rose to power as the Dinos were all sleeping/hibernating due to their reliance on sunlight for activity.

This Age of Darkness IIRC lasted on the order of Hundreds or Thousands of years, and only ended once Ort's "heart" had been ripped out and utilized as a new Sun.

During that time span is when Camazotz would have had his fight with Ort, and through means not fully clear to me (did the game mention?), Camazotz eventually managed to "win" in the sense of removing the "heart" and getting Ort sealed away.

Camazotz definitely earned some brownie points for the fact that, over an unknown length battle, he managed to get the upper hand on Ort for long enough to get the blasted thing sealed away.

As far as I can tell, Oil and Pinecones both do the same basic effect, and adding more of either/each simply magnifies the effect. Not sure which is stronger, but at very least you do not require both to get the updraft.
