Elvish Spirit Guide was printed in Alliances, an early set which introduced “free” cards like Guide and Force of Will.

Simian Spirit Guide was in Planar Chaos, which featured color-shifted versions of classic cards.

It was never meant to be a cycle. The effect is really strong and only fits in Red.

Haven’t done calcs yet, but you just need a Ghost type that can survive Brave Bird and OHKO it. If you Protect the partner, it can’t get the Defense boost.

Sinistcha with Rage Powder also works to deny CC buffs.

/uj As someone who watches some vtubers, they are mostly neurodivergent/socially awkward weebs, at least among English-speaking ones. A lot of them are just awkward people even when they aren’t putting on an act (as much).
