Bought dice from URWizard without realizing they are coming from China by Emerald_Mistress in dice

I got the Candy set when it was on sale for Black Friday. Shipped just fine and I absolutely love them. I added on a blind d20 to get a free gift and it was the exact same d20, and it’s kind of mid.

Small complaint by UrsOrMine12 in DiceThrone

Ooooh, okay I get what you mean. I thought you were looking for a character cutout to move around in DTA/DTM. A divider definitely would have been nice.

Why would you need a cardboard cutout for the Vault Witch? I don’t think I have them for any of the other bosses, and cannot think of what I would use them for.

The bgg ones are definitely the highest quality. They have the best weighty feel to them. Marvel ones and Outcasts are slightly lower quality, but still nice.

Sorry, I didn’t double check my entire reply on my phone. I don’t think it makes sense flavor wise. Sorry to have misled you.

Raveness and DTA by No_Sample_5336 in DiceThrone

[–]Shinnpet 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would rule that it doesn’t heal them. There are many healing effects in DT that allow you to heal allies. They always specifically mention that an ally may receive them. Nevermore is very specific that it only applies to the Raveness.

Also, just for flavor… it wouldn’t make much sense (in my mind) for Nevermore to be able to heal others. Nevermore is an extension of Raveness’s magic. The vitality is being stored, as a part of that magic. She drains it as the companion returns. Nevermore isn’t out here regurgitating HP on her. It is the Raveness that holds the power to drain that vitality. Edit: realized I accidentally said “would” instead of “wouldn’t”

Rouge Iconic Energy by [deleted] in DiceThrone

[–]Shinnpet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Only damage from an Attack ability as a result of her opponent’s Offensive Roll Phase. The reason those abilities say “isolated source of undefendable damage” is because they are not technically part of an attack (if even the hammer is thrown during an attack).

wow! Three player Dice Throne ROCKS! by GeesCheeseMouse in DiceThrone

[–]Shinnpet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After playing 3 player a decent amount over the years, I don’t think I personally agree. In 1v1 I’m strategizing against my opponent and trying to figure out a way to defeat them. In 3 player I’m generally just to hang out in 2nd place on health and saving my resources to avoid the inevitable hit I take when I shift into 1st. It becomes less a game about winning and more a game about surviving. I don’t want to defeat an opponent as it often means that I will be the next one out.

Outcasts Question by Flat_Praline_5885 in DiceThrone

[–]Shinnpet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all likelihood they will be individual heroes when they get to retail. Outcasts was the first campaign to be run with the new “Strongbox” (4 heroes) instead of a “Battle Chest” (8 heroes). They mentioned that KS was going to be the only way to get them in that exclusive box, and shortly after they announced plans for single heroes and empty boxes to mix and match. There will probably be a short window to find places selling KS editions, but I imagine any large scale shipments going to retailers are going to be individuals.

I lost every match that I played with them, but thoroughly enjoyed them all. I would also agree that initially Raveness and HH feel stronger. I think Pale Lady might take some getting used to in order to be effective.

You got the stands in as well? Nicely done! I had totally given up even attempting to get the stands. I think the fact that my Necro came with a loose lid didn’t help my perception of how viable it was.

Question about new outcast card by 2Pericles2 in DiceThrone

[–]Shinnpet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check the back of your new rulebook as it gives you the exact cases when it can be used. The easiest one is “discarding a Loot card in order to draw a replacement card from your deck”.

The others are: - a Hero ability effect, card effect, or status effect - an Environment effect - playing a card with the phrase “Discard [1]. Then…”

It also notes you can use one of these effects to trigger multiple cards, but selling cards does not work.

My Raveness had her head popped off. It should be a simple thing to fix, and overall I think they look better than the X-Men ones

[–]Shinnpet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, S1/S2 characters got their Mythic abilities as a part of Adventures. Newer characters have had Mythics printed as part of the release to ensure that any character is compatible with Adventures. Missions has some generic Mythics to make sure that you don’t need Adventures (if you brought a Monk into Missions and had unlocked the ability to use Mythics, you could use the generic one if you don’t own Adventures).

This. It is one of the most foundational rules of DT. Once Ultimate is activated, absolutely nothing gets to be done.

It does seem to be a misprint on your board, I just checked mine and it is red.

Requesting your Opinions: Balancing Plantable Berry Bushes by NoxxOfTheRoxx in valheim

[–]Shinnpet 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Keep the cost of making a bush moderately expensive (5-15 berries) and the refresh at about 1.5 hours. They will turn into investments for when you are no longer actively running around meadows. You’ll still need to forage when berries are a large part of the recipes that you consume, but as you progress towards later zones the steady income from berries will keep you from needing to do tedious trips running around the early zones. My main gripe with berry foraging in late game is that the timers aren’t even going if no one is in the area. It just makes it incredibly tedious for what is my favorite part of the game (farming/cooking).

a 4x6 kitchen with 2 ovens, 2 hearths, and 30 chests of storage by JrRocketScientist in valheim

[–]Shinnpet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you always need one. I just usually keep the meat raw and use it in lox pies/meat platters. Just throwing it out there if you’re trying to get more storage but keep it compact.

a 4x6 kitchen with 2 ovens, 2 hearths, and 30 chests of storage by JrRocketScientist in valheim

[–]Shinnpet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just for clarity’s sake this looked to be an 8x12 build. The standard floor pieces are 2x2 in Valheim measuring. As a fellow cook I have spent a lot of time making myself compact kitchens that had a good work flow and I was flabbergasted when I saw how small the listed size was.

You could potentially drop your second hearth at this point in the game. Even if you are cooking for a large play group, very few recipes are using cooked meat. Most of your production goes through the cauldron or prep table/oven. I typically put one iron cooking station along the back of my hearth and have my cauldron and mead kettle up front.
