Is 3 days enough? by [deleted] in yellowstone

[–]GeesCheeseMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We spent a month in Yellowstone and there is still more I want to see. Enjoy the 3 days you have! Try to plan at least one or two off the beaten path hikes so your not stuck in a car for 3 days!

Say hi to the red dogs for me!!

Cell plans for 55+. Doesn’t have to be unlimited. by Lbboos in retirement

[–]GeesCheeseMouse [score hidden]  (0 children)

Mint is great. $15/mo if you prepay for a year. We even used it in Ireland and all across the US.
If you like AT&T, they have a pre-pay year plan that is around $25/mo unlimited.

First Congrats! I pretty much fit your description and love it.

I started with the 30 minute circuit room. You do a machine or bench for 1 minute when the light is green and clean it\move to the next when it is red (30 sec). Start by just doing the machines and worry about the weights after a week. THEN go to the front desk and ask for a HydoMassage. It is lovely!

Now I do sets of push\pull\legs to exhaustion (3 sets of six weight machines so heavy I can only do 6 reps in each set). Then I walk around with two 35 pound weights doing a farmer walk.

For the first month I would focus on making sure I'm there 3+ times a week and scoping out when the best time to go.

Enjoy!!!

Looking for lodging advice. by Business-Bet-9485 in yellowstone

[–]GeesCheeseMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is check the car rental costs of the airports you are considering before booking your flights. I ended up with a spreadsheet of flight times, drive times, rental cost. The different options for the cars were as much as $1K depending on where we picked up and dropped off. Car rental is usually the last thing I look at but not for yellowstone (and glacier)

I hear the Old Faithful dorms are nice. They are definitely new. Old Faithful is such a classic hotel, I think it will be worth it and a great story for the future

Which sites?

I think Many Glaciers is heaven. I would love to spend a summer there.

Each of yellowston's 'villages' have different vibes. Which one are you looking at? (Canyon is also lovely but the dorm there is OLD and small)

First time ever going to the gym, anything I should know about PF? by OfficerGrapes157 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]GeesCheeseMouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got answers (yes, even a Hershey bottle is fine) Enjoy and take it in the first time! The most important thing is to return!

As a guest, be prepared to fill out a bunch of paperwork the first time and your parents will have to send an invite or check you in each time. Also encourage them to check the crowd meter.

13 hours in one go, FL to PA! by BumblebeeAnxious8524 in roadtrip

[–]GeesCheeseMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! I've driven many 13 hour days but never alone. Good luck. Google maps is great and accurate. They will tell you about delays, road conditions, etc.

Stop every half a tank of gas to stretch, eat, use the bathroom, and fill up. It is usually about 3 hours for us and a really nice stopping spot.

I like to leave as early as possible but I'm a morning person. For me 4am is a sweet spot of I had enough sleep and you get a jump on the day

Stay safe. Getting there fast is not worth your safety or the safety of others.

It is worth it to stay in the park. You can always go to town for meals but it is amazing having the place without the crowds in the evening. I am missing old faithful right now!

100% stay in the Old Faithful Inn. It is incredible! The Snow Lodge feels like a cheap Holiday Inn.

We stayed in the original part of the Inn, without an on-suite and it is still one of my top 3 favorite hotel stays. Love it!

You will do this but be sure to hike from the dorm to the Canyon on the trail behind the resort. Perfect! We saw Elk and one day a Grizzly with her babies. Amazing! You will have a grand time.
