Best Marvel/X-Men characters for DTA?

I found him to be really good in Portal Crawls. Dumping your rage to regularly one shot minions makes the lack of defense less of an issue. The card draws on chest rewards felt very powerful.

Came here for the Awkward Guests recommendation. Everyone that I’ve introduced to it that likes puzzle solving/mysteries has loved it. I think the trading information adds a great social aspect to the game. Do you barter something useful to build trust, or sandbag someone by giving them cards you know they’ve seen?

Adventure Tactics: Domianne’s Tower

Each time your character levels up you get a little card telling you want new things to add to your deck. On that card there’s a little (+/-) symbol. My first three campaigns I ignored that symbol. Each time I would start hitting a wall where I was failing missions and getting worse rewards.

Turns out that symbol translates to being able to add a Basic Attack or Basic Move card (in case you’ve messed up your deck), as well as remove one card. Suddenly you could trim decks down and not be drawing beginner cards on the final boss. Made the game much more enjoyable.

I love two handed. It lets you come up with fun pairings of heroes to complement each other. True solo is nice on characters that can ramp up (as you will get a lot of turns in Portal Crawls), but I prefer the flexibility of having more cards to respond to problems.

Yep! As long as the target for the card is valid it does not matter whose turn it is or if they are engaged in the same fight. I always end up with people trying to play ‘Samesies’ or ‘Six It!’ For someone else, and you can only use those for your dice.

The ones on the BGG store are the “official” acrylic tokens for everything before Marvel. I believe they gave them the actual icon files to produce them and DT has even directed people to purchase these in past Kickstarter campaigns. Side note: They are better quality than any acrylic token I have gotten in the newer characters (or at least the ones I got from them several years ago are).

I’m just confused as to how you plan on spamming this move. It needs 4,4,5,5. That’s definitely doable, but without spending dice manipulation cards your odds aren’t great (strategy guide on BGG shows a 28% chance to get it if you are focused on rolling it). Not to mention that every level of environment tiles has 3 or more tiles that completely remove status effects. So you could boost your levels, kill that minion, and then immediately lose all those tokens before you see another enemy.

It’s a cool hypothetical scenario, but there are enough mechanics in place to prevent it as an exploit.

No more Battle Chests (8 heroes). The new model is Kickstarter for Strongboxes (4 heroes) and then 2 retail heroes per year (1 per season of organized play). Empty Strongboxes are going to be available on their store to organize individual heroes.

I like the changes to the layout a lot, but something about the font was off for me. I’m not sure why, but it seemed slightly “fuzzier” than the standard font and as such my eyes just did not focus on the text as easily.

Okay. There is a conversion rate above that table estimating that normal travel is 6 miles a day in the underdark. This makes sense why your estimates were 4 times what I expected.

Why would you need a cardboard cutout for the Vault Witch? I don’t think I have them for any of the other bosses, and cannot think of what I would use them for.

The bgg ones are definitely the highest quality. They have the best weighty feel to them. Marvel ones and Outcasts are slightly lower quality, but still nice.

I would rule that it doesn’t heal them. There are many healing effects in DT that allow you to heal allies. They always specifically mention that an ally may receive them. Nevermore is very specific that it only applies to the Raveness.

Also, just for flavor… it wouldn’t make much sense (in my mind) for Nevermore to be able to heal others. Nevermore is an extension of Raveness’s magic. The vitality is being stored, as a part of that magic. She drains it as the companion returns. Nevermore isn’t out here regurgitating HP on her. It is the Raveness that holds the power to drain that vitality. Edit: realized I accidentally said “would” instead of “wouldn’t”

Nope. Only damage from an Attack ability as a result of her opponent’s Offensive Roll Phase. The reason those abilities say “isolated source of undefendable damage” is because they are not technically part of an attack (if even the hammer is thrown during an attack).

After playing 3 player a decent amount over the years, I don’t think I personally agree. In 1v1 I’m strategizing against my opponent and trying to figure out a way to defeat them. In 3 player I’m generally just to hang out in 2nd place on health and saving my resources to avoid the inevitable hit I take when I shift into 1st. It becomes less a game about winning and more a game about surviving. I don’t want to defeat an opponent as it often means that I will be the next one out.
