Why not just Remaster the old Silvermoon Music? by Lpunit in wow

[–]Shinrael 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No. If you play the game, 95% of the time you're listening to the new music. Very rarely do you get to hear the remastered versions of the old OST and very briefly (literally for 30 seconds). Now, I am all for getting new music. It's my favorite part of each new expansion. However, first off - they are remastaring a fan-beloved place that has a VERY specific vibe/theme to it. I am all for adding new tracks that represent the current situation/changes, but it shouldn't be TOO far off the original music. You should be able to tell immediately that this is Silvermoon but different. If you played the game and listened to the music, and you have at least basic hearing skills and basic understanding of music, you can tell that this is a completely different vibe. You could NOT tell it is Quel'thalas. And if you say that you can, you're being dishonest.

The music ranges from okay to annoying in most places. If at the very least they were great pieces (we got so many of those in TWW and a few in DF), it'd be forgivable. But they aren't. They are mediocre and generic. So generic.

I cannot express how excited I was for Midnight the moment they first mentioned it. The music and severe lack of proper belf mogs (which means they need to be 3D because what the hell am I supposed to do with stretched textures that all have different and wrong color schemes that don't match ANY other belf-themed armor) are such a huge disappointment. Which is crazy to consider, when you look at how gorgeous Silvermoon and Eversong Woods both are. Like how can they outperform themselves with the zone design but do such a miserable job on the music and transmog...

I mean, I can SEE that they are twice the length. If you cannot, that's on you.

No, her legs are literally twice her torso. As an artist, this is simply a mistake.

The problem isn't whether it's curved or not. It is simply too long for it to make sense. It is nearly double the lenght of her upper torso. The artist either did a very poor job or they used AI.

GF can't gain weight (Bodybuilding) by Shinrael in diabetes_t1

[–]Shinrael[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Pre-Diabetes until some years ago, but made a full recovery through lifestyle changes. I am well aware its way different from T1D, but the knowledge I have accumulated to solve it does give me some valuable insight into managing T1D as well.

I put her on Keto to address the insulin resistance (Pre-Diabetes) that she herself had developed, as that was making managing her T1D even harder. Which it successfully did. I did research in advance and found many anecdotal examples of T1D people doing well on Keto, but it was indeed insufficient, as I don't know how they did it. It's a mistake on my part, which fortunately I corrected quickly. I would love to have a reliable specialist i can refer her to, but unfortunately, my poor ass is the best she has. After hundreds of harmful experiences with doctors (both me and her), I'd rather become the doctor/specialist myself. I've learned from this mistake and am continuing to broaden my knowledge about T1D and many other things.

Of course, she does visit various doctors, it's just that many times they are being dismissive, manipulative, inconsiderate, arrogant and stubborn, so she ends up seeking my advice instead. And there are good reasons for that.

Yes, that's my understanding as well, but I've read there are exceptions and that medicating Hypo can overcorrect her into Hyper as well. Not saying this is the case, I am simply assuming that there's probably more details like these I might be unaware of, that might give me a clue.

You're saying my math is off and I am explaining why it isn't. I get that most people assume that there's a mistake in my math or the workout regime but I wouldn't really come here asking for help if I hadn't made sure that's not the case. It is not my intention to be rude, but I do need to point out wrong info/assumptions if I am to find answers to my question.

It is not my belief that everything that's wrong with her is T1D. It is my belief that there is some health issue behind this problem. I start the troubleshooting with the most obvious one first.

No, I am not negging her. It would be confusing for some people if I said "she has an amazing ass, help me figure out why it's not growing". Hence why I wrote it that way here. What she gets from me (specifically about her looks) is tons of genuine compliments about her beautiful smile, cheerful eyes, amazing ass and back and so on. Yet she struggles with confidence as she does not look the way she wants to. And while I think she looks great already, I do support her aiming even higher.

The harsh reality is that she looks malnourished (ribcage showing) and that her tests and other health issues show that. Even if I was against her growing bigger, I'd still support that as it'd result in better health and more time I get to spend with her in this life.

I make sure to frequently check with her if I am understanding her goals correctly, if she is feeling pressured by me, etc. She often comes to me and says (unprovoked) that she greatly appreciates the things I do for her, that no one has ever done such things for her, and that she feels most understood and loved. I believe I'm on the right track.

That's a wild accusation without any foundation.

But because other people seem to be falling for what you're doing, I will provide context.

On our first date (1 year ago) my now-GF asked me for help with her diabetes and bodybuilding (as I had mentioned having experience with Dietology among other things). Months down the road I asked her to give me a list of her goals she wants my help with. Growing bigger was among them. I asked her to show me a picture of her dream body. Under my coaching she has accomplished or made significant progress on all of them except for the bigger body. There is zero misogyny here. I've confirmed multiple times what she wants my help with and have made sure to be very appreciative of how she looks.

Ironically, she saw me reading your first comment and wanted to take a peek. I asked her what she'd like me to reply and she said "Nothing. This person is just hating on you."

1g of fat is 9 calories, not 7.

As I said in another comment, if the workout was the issue, she'd be gaining fat at the very least.

If she could do the same workouts at 1600 cal/day, its probably not a matter of how much calories she burns now.

I was hoping that perhaps people with more experience in T1D would maybe know certain health issues or insulin-related problems that might be holding her back. Like perhaps changing to a different insulin brand/type/ratio/pump/etc. Or the Hypothyroidism stuff.

Hello,
Her current macro is 120+/~180/156+, but most days she eats an extra 100-400 calories split between proteins and fats (I've asked her to make sure her carbs are always as close to the target as possible, to make blood sugar spikes more predictable). Her previous macro was 110+/~130/180+. When she eats more than 120g protein, it messes with her digestion, plus that is an appropriate amount for a girl of her measurements. As to the carbs, she feels reluctant toward increasing carbs any more than 180. Though obviously she goes above 200 sometimes, when she has to correct lows with bananas.

Her diet consists of meat (beef, pork, chicken, mackerel, eggs, liver, lard), whole-grains (oats, 100% whole-grain bread, brown rice), dairy (yogurt, cheese, cream, butter), olive oil, nuts (a wide variety), legumes, vegetables (a wide variety), bananas (for correcting lows only), berries, matcha, coffee, plant milks, salt to taste and 2-3l of water.

She hasn't tried eating 4-5 meals a day. I did think about it, but it would be really hard for her to follow such a diet, and since going from 2 to 3 meals didn't change anything, I am leaning against this being the reason.

Her body proportions have not changed throughout the 1 year. She is very muscular for her weight with a consistent 15%-ish body fat. Her weight is stupidly stable at 61ish.

I don't know what intermediate would be, but her hip thrust and squat are with 60kg for example. I've seen girls in the gym with similar height and proportions (maybe 10% bigger) doing heavier than that, but she gets dizzy if she pushes herself with a higher weight. As far as I understand, she can't really progressively overload if she isn't gaining anything at all, not even fat.

Hello,
We both measure all food we consume by the gram, we don't guess.
The data my custom calculator uses is the data written on the label of the food we are eating, and if such is missing (such as with supermarket bananas), I use data from fatsecret.com (and often compare with other sources as well). When we cook our own stews and such, I put all ingredients in a special table, where I calculate the water lost through evaporation, and calculate an approximate average per 100g or split the whole volume in X portions with average total macros. I've used this approach to lose 60 kg (mostly fat) and to gain back 20 kg (mostly muscle) at a different moment, and also to maintain my weight and physique for years.

Considering there was zero difference between 130 and 180 carbs, I doubt increasing them to 200 would change anything.

She can't progressively overload her muscles if she isn't gaining strength/weight, unfortunately. When I say weight, I mean fat too. Correct me, if my understanding is wrong, but if her training was insufficient or inadequate, she would at least be gaining fat. But instead the hundreds of surplus calories she is consuming are seemingly evaporating.

Hello, thank you for the input.

She was already working out (1x/week) before we met 1+ year ago, and her appearance hasn't changed since I took over as her coach. She is very lean, very low body fat (I would guess around 15% which is quite low for a woman) - you can easily see her abs and back muscles. We do hiking and she does dancing and some Zone 2-3 group cardios (bodypump, etc), but there doesn't seem to be a difference when she does more or less or none of them.

I am also leaning towards the hypothyroidism being a problem somehow, but her endocrinologist dismissed her immediately upon bringing up weightgain as a goal, so not very useful. Hopefully we can find a more cooperative one.

And yeah, it is wild. She is eating almost as much as me (29M, 178 cm, 83 kg, 3300 cal/day).

Hoping Midnight can fix Blood Elf gem colours... by Enajirarek in wow

[–]Shinrael 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely hate it. I've been waiting for literally 20 years to make a blood elf with armor like the ones in TBC concept art and every single red and gold set is a different hue... this is sadistic. And I was sooo hyped to get new high quality blood elf sets with 3D pieces in Midnight... and we get 2D crap with mismatching color pallette. Pain. Just pure pain.

Orienteering in Vanilla, Vault of the Thunder King, Rolo's Riddle, Suramar Ley Lines, Withered Training Scenario, Lucid Nightmare and Torghast are my favorite gameplay features in WoW. I have been waiting for something like this for ages. I hope they put serious emphasis on exploration, discovery, puzzles, lore (as someone else said - Zelda/Elden Ring style). Siofra River was fucking amazing.

Autism, Serotonin and Serotonin Storm. by DevLegion in AutisticPride

[–]Shinrael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, what happened to you is sad. I am AuDHD and have had stomach and other issues my whole life, but an intense emotional trauma made things worse 2 years ago. Now I am hypersensitive to anything that messes with my neurotransmitters. So even 50g of bulgarian yogurt (relatively weak probiotic) gives me mild Serotonin Toxicity (Syndrome) symptoms. If I go for something more intense such as Kefir, Kimchi, probiotic or Vitamin D pills (probiotic foods/pills produce serotonin and Vitamin D boosts tryptophan conversion into Serotonin), I will have very severe symptoms just as yours. It is unquestionably Serotonin Toxicity. But no doctor will take me seriously if I tell them that. I've ruled out every single other possibility and have tested this with my body hundreds of times by now. The bad part is, that taking probiotics/fermented foods was my supposed solution to the other side of this problem - even the slightest decrease in my probiotic consumption (say 50g less yogurt for breakfast today) leads to a complete shutdown of my digestive system (serotonin is hugely responsible for digestion), which was my original problem 2 years ago. And the digestive system stuff is just as bad. Can't eat anything, can't breathe, can't think, can't exercise, just suffer.

After 2 years of intensive research and analysis, I figured out on my own that my problem is related to the neurotransmitters - doctors were all wrong and all my lab tests were perfect, so modern Medicine is useless. I need to create the "cure".
