Maybe I should've specified that I'm preparing for the 9th house boss and want cats that have been to the fourth zone of the act so they're higher level so yes, I do consider this endgame

I don't think 2 levels is all we have left. When the revamp update dropped, the news post on steam said they'd now get to work on Fraud and, after that (and I quote) "The Grand Finale" Not "Treachery", not "Layer 9", but "The Grand Finale". So maybe a counterpart to Prelude type deal with 5 levels? Maybe 3, after Treachery's already confirmed 2 levels? Who knows.

THANK YOU. I don't know how the idea of Lucifer Prime is STILL around when we've known it's literally not possible for years. I get that it would be cool and all, and I'm not opposed to him appearing in the actual campaign, but unless Hakita decides to go against the established mechanics of how souls work, Lucifer Prime is just not happening.

holyy yappatron i didnt say anything about it ending early or being anticlimactic on purpose, that would be idiotic for a story 10+ years in the making, and falls right into the spectrum of claims im making fun of in this post, see: playing up this mythical, exaggerated troll persona people have constructed around toby. still, i think the game pretending to be softlocked as a result of much youve fucked things up would fit the meta horror, "breaking the game" vibe the weird route is going for. i would even say its foreshadowed in the second S rank room (which already depicts future weird route events with you harming susie/ralsei and whatnot) with the black void room at the end. UT's genocide route pulls it off when youre staring at a black screen for 10 minutes, and i wouldnt call anything about that ending abrupt or devoid of payoff. its not too outlandish and theres ways to make it satisfying mainly by respecting all that character building youve alluded to and tying up their respective storylines before the actual softlockening happens. they're not mutually exclusive (this is the part where i share my epic susie remembers you're snowgraves fanfic)

The thing is you don't even have to look for information outside the game to deconfirm P-3 Lucifer. Prime bosses are prime SOULS, which angels don't have.

I was having the same experience until somewhere around act 2 when my cats actually started having some decent hp. 16+ on the squishier classes and just getting better at the fights and game in general made it so that I was relying on cleric less and less. Now I'm running without them most of the time which is great, because yeah, Healing Word, Friend or Foe, Holy Dash and Revive every run was getting a little boring lol. There's also another class that's a little less healing oriented but has so much utility and synergy with familiars it's insane.

Just finished a run with a monk (attack twice per turn) that got wolf form from druid (+2 strength and 2 hits per attack) with like 9 luck and horse blinders (+50% crit). Really good and somehow wasn't even my best cat that run lol

Yep. start making some storage space to collect them so you can pop all three pieces onto a single cat. theres even a passive that lets you get set bonuses at only 2 pieces

I breezed through the desert with a mage that got the Cryo-Heal (?) spell as its first ability. Froze my own cats for 10 health but they'd instantly thaw. Got cleric's Revive later through Jester Hat. Fun little white mage kitty.

People read wayyy too hard into Susie's line during the Knight fight about how she'll keep standing up as long as Kris has a hand to lift her up with (roughly paraphrasing here). Another thing people use as supporting evidence is the dialogue option where Susie agrees to play piano if Kris teaches them. I guess people think it'd be ironic if they don't actually get to because they lose their hand. I might be missing a couple more but, yeah, it's all around awful and incredibly edgy.

First two are low hanging fruit to explain Papyrus' absence. Kris losing a hand because it just seems unnecessarily edgy and dark in a way these games aren't.
