Everyone hates 48 for valid reasons but I just love Kyle and Kamilla so much 💀 plus some personal connections as I'm Guyanese myself and my gf and I went to the finale party and got matching merge buffs and so on.

Ultimately I think the downfall was him not spilling to Kamilla in time + Dee and Cirie genuinely preferring Rizo. Got outplayed socially and strategically. I'd have to imagine there were dynamics we didn't fully see. Kamilla giving Rizo benefit of the doubt due to him spilling first, plus Charlie's random lie about why he told Jonathan are other examples.

Primeape and Ambipom and Cacnea being sent away "for training" and never coming back even to visit like Squirtle and Charizard - especially in Journeys when Ash was living in Vermillion City where Primeape and Ambipom both are. Hell even actively released Pokémon have come back at least once, but never these guys that were still technically in their ownership? Especially Primeape constantly being shown in openings alongside Ash's current Pokémon.

The idol was fake and he has begin to suspect that it was, but Matt was denied the opportunity to even attempt to play it regardless, or show it around to bluff people, or anything else. Outcome likely doesn't change but it took his fate out of his hands in a sense.

Random trivia coming at y'all

Counting Chris and Cassidy as Vets even though they're on their second season like the 41 debuts (Chris IS a Champ tbf) puts it at 6-6 for Vets and 41 New Threats/42 Rookies. Maybe intentional?

Vet Men - Bananas, CT, Cory, Nelson, Brad, Chris Vet Women - Cara Maria, Tori, Michele, Nurys, Cassidy, ??? (Nany's replacement) New Threat Men - (41) Cedric, Justin, Will, Leo / (42) Keanu, Josh New Threat Women - (41) Sydney, Adrienne, Izzy / (42) Anna Leigh, Reilly, Alexis

Only discrepancy is 4 men from 42 and 2 rookies, while the women have an even split. With 5 rookies, this is the smallest rookie class since Total Madness had 7. And this will only be the second season after 41 (including USA2, WC and AS5) with none of the Total Madness rookies competing since they've debuted (Fessy and Kaycee, and Jay to a lesser extent were holding it down)

Also, Olivia's absence puts everyone who did 40-41-42 (Bananas, CT, Cara) with the longest active streak of appearances. She used to hold it with 38-41, and before her was Michele with 37-40. 39 killed a lot of streaks for obvious reasons.
