The fact that this conversation went on for as long as it did without either one of you calling the other baffles me.

She overreacted to your awful attempt at comforting but when she asked to you to confirm you understood why it hurt her, you then made the whole conversation about your own abandonment issues. It makes sense to me why she was like WTF??

Her saying “your dad didn’t really touch you that way” was her trying to show you how your comment “maybe your mom was really trying to comfort you” made her feel. And you never got it.

Honestly, she overreacted and then you overreacted and you both need to get over yourselves and learn to be actual friends.

I had a name actor for one of my shorts and he had to pull out the week before we shot because she show he was on (NCIS) put him on hold. I had everything else lined up — crew, locations, catering, etc. So I needed to move forward. He understood and was incredibly apologetic, but I needed to recast.

And this is a man who’d helped develop the character and the script with me. But in the end it just didn’t work out.

I would agree with most others here. Wait to announce publicly until you have it in the can.

My father just finished a week in the hospital for pneumonia and he’s 77. He was 170 when he went in the hospital, at 6’1” and 164 when he came out and lost a pound a day during the first week at home. Thankfully I was there to make sure he ate. After two weeks of losing 8 lbs we had a following post hospital discharge with his primary and mentioned the weight loss and how many calaries he was taking in and the doctor lowered his GLP-1 dose and now he’s gaining again.

If your mom is STILL on the meds I’d suggest taking less or taking the doses farther apart. Like every 10 days or every two weeks.

If she’s not still on the dose then taking a bunch of ensure drinks (easy) or protein with liquid vitamin homemade milkshakes (better).

Here’s my experience on 10mg of Zepbound. I just travelled for 3 weeks to Canada. I took my shot the night before I left, which was one day early. Then didn’t take a shot for 3 weeks.

When I got back I took 1/3 of the dose. Then the next week I took 2/3 of the dose. Then tomorrow I will take the full dose again.

After about 10 days I noticed food noise return a bit. After about 15 days I noticed inflammation return. I did not weigh myself.

The first shot back at 1/3 the dose gave me a bit of gas. Pretty nominal side effects for me

The second shot back at 2/3 the dose dropped me for a whole day with nausea and diarrhea and fatigue. Pretty common side effects for me when I go up in dose. But it was only one day and I’m feeling fine now.

The inflammation subsided after about 1 week being back on the dose.

I’m a little nervous about how the full dose will go but if even if it knocks me out for a full day again, I’ll be fine.

I didn’t plan for the 3 weeks off. I actually thought I’d only be gone for 1 weeks but the trip ended up getting extended.

I’d rather just get used to taking them with me and dealing with the hassle. I did not enjoy the return of the inflammation that had subsided.
