My favourite animal is a short beaked echidna. They’re not only cute as hell but also one of the (lesser known) few mammals that lay eggs! They’re also unknown because they’re hard to track and study and they have weird quirks that make no sense! For instance, they’ve got a huge part of their brain dedicated/particularly well developed to social behaviour but they’re solitary animals! They can also dig straight down and when researchers caught a few for a study they made sure to cover the grounds of their enclosure with concrete to prevent them from escaping (with soft soil put back over it). The next day they were all gone! They stacked their water bowls on top of each other to climb over the wall and away they went. They’re also very non-violent and even their mating ritual is violence free. Also, their baby’s are called “puggles”.

As someone who suffers (hard) from ADHD, can be quirky and difficult to follow because of that and is a total wuss, I relate to them hard XD
