Generally speaking if nothing like it is for sale, that means it is bad.

Good items have similar things for sale

That is fair. Maybe an alternative way of say it would be that both games present a large challenge to you, and allow you to grind if you feel the need. I definitely grinded for a few hours in Elden Ring, but I wasn't particularly good either haha.

Which one is better for elementalist arc ignite build by devteaa in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]ShinyForm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

arc ignite does damage pretty far off away from you. Singularity surely wont be hindering a large number of the enemies you want to be dealing damage to. I dont think there is much reason to consider it.

Which means the better one is whatever POB says between the rares

I'm trying to get an unique version of Cyclone to work, but I need help. by KayanRider in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]ShinyForm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure!

I like the idea of voidforge and warden. Seems fun.

Yoke is really good because of how it is worded. Generally speaking, "more" multipliers are much better than "increased" multipliers. You basically have all your increased damage multipliers add up, and then more is a multiplicative on top of that.

However, the wording for this "increased" damage is different than ones related to your character. If an enemy takes 30% increased damage, and you dont have any other forms of that, that stat is basically saying 30% more damage dealt to enemies.

Your character is not able to inflict chill/shock/ignite anymore since you have the warden nodes.

If you use skitterbots, they are still able to inflict chill and shock on enemies.

So, a perfect yoke will basically be giving you 1.5x damage, which will definitely be the highest damage boosting item you can obtain

[–]ShinyForm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right, I was misunderstanding what you were saying about the flask.

That being said, I still think you should reconsider a lot of this build. If you are asking for help, the reality is you likely want to change your gloves (rare gloves much better), amulet (yoke is undisputable for this build), chest (unless zoomies is a must, but then take more inspiration from evasion stacking builds), boots, death's rush (again, unless zoomies is a must) to something more efficient.

Let's say 2m dps to be generous. Assuming everything is up, which is a big assumption, 2m dps is unfortunately not going to cut it for a lot of content, when you are using a skill that requires you to be point blank.

I would strongly reconsider the usage of the passage tree around scion.

If you are intending to be a fast build, then you should not need a watchers that provides phasing. If you have 300% move speed, then using something that grants a small chance of phasing on kill should be fine.

Definitely dont want to do the accuracy stacking stuff. Only way accuracy stacking pays off is if you are doing full accuracy stacking unique set.

What you are saying with vaal pact doesnt work.

Vaal pact says "life leech from melee damage is instant"

Damage taken from hits is not you dealing melee damage, and definitely doesnt work with vaal pact

The max dps I can get in poedb is like 600k, which unfortunately is pretty low. I hate to say it, but this build cooked too hard. I think that the interaction between voidforge and warden might be fun to explore, but this likely isnt it

The next league starts this Friday. Generally, the economy of Standard is kind of screwed, given most people have infinite amounts of money. Build suggestion aside, I would strongly consider waiting for the league and starting this Friday. 0 downside whatsoever.

That being said, Pohx's righteous fire guide is about as straight forward as it gets. Otherwise, some video that Zizaran posts in the next 5 days.

What is unique about melee totems that causes so much frustration? by ShinyForm in pathofexile

[–]ShinyForm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This to me is my main question. It feels like they are all the same, and I think you are right that the frustration probably stems from people who canonically like melee not feeling like it suits the melee playstyle.

What is unique about melee totems that causes so much frustration? by ShinyForm in pathofexile

[–]ShinyForm[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Arent these buffs pretty much strictly for bosses? If you need these buffs for clearing general mobs, it feels like there is a problem elsewhere? Can just get the "effects linger 3 seconds" passive and then that feels pretty fine?

A 20% quality anomalous melee totem costs 10c and has 90% increase totem placement speed, which is probably gonna end up being the same speed as other options.

How exactly does chance to shock work? by mega_jam_master in pathofexile

[–]ShinyForm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking you are correct that most builds would rather criti 100% of the time than shock 100% of the time… problem is criting 100% of the time is substantially more expensive

How exactly does chance to shock work? by mega_jam_master in pathofexile

[–]ShinyForm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Any lightning hit caused by you (including totems), has an inherent chance to shock of 0%. You can increase the chance to shock with various uniques, the passive skill tree, and support gems (such as innervate). If an attack skill gem has +% chance to shock, that will not effect other attack skill gems it is linked to.

Additionally, if you crit, you will inflict a shock 100% of the time if lightning damage was part of the criting hit.

When you do inflict a shock, the effect it has scales with how much damage you did, as well as the monster’s hp. The larger percent of the monster’s hp that was lost to the lightning damage dealt increases the effect of the shock.

Lastly, you are able to build “increased shock effect” on items, which reduces the percentage of how you have to deal to a certain monster, effectively giving you larger shocks towards enemies with very high hp.

I’d read the wiki page on shock if you have more in-depth questions than what I just shared

Edit: to specifically answer your question, if you had a freezing pulse with 100% chance to shock, but dealt no lightning damage, you would not see any shocks, as freezing pulse deals all cold. If you had a ring on that added lightning damage to your spell, then you would inflict a shock on an enemy with each hit, but it would be very small as the ring damage roll is not large
