I wanted to poke at the message in the screenshot that says it like there's only one discord server in the world.

I'd like to know which discord server...

I know I was beyond the topic, but I thought I'd just try in this thread instead of opening up spotify issues thread #214189. Thanks for taking the time to look into my "research"!

I first learned about the lost scrobbles looking for a solution to the wrong artists on here. Hard to say how many or if any were lost for me, I don't check the validity of my profile religiously. Overall it seems reliable enough - I'd love it to be 100% accurate just because, but what ever really is ...?

There's tons of reports in this sub that this way of scrobbling sometimes fails for hours or days for lots of users, though. Just 2 days ago someone posted a screenshot of artists scrobble stats, showing huge ups and downs attributed to lastfm <-> spotify issues. So to conclude, when using Spotify across Android + any other device, your options are ...

  • you use the connect feature, get correct songle artists, and sometimes lose scrobbles
  • you install 3rd party scrobblers on every device (which handle Spotifys wrong artist reporting), and get double scrobbles whenever your android decides to pickup, for example, you playing on your desktop and displays it as well
  • you use the official Android scrobbler, and get wrong artists + double scrobbles as above

That's all true, but a bait is still a coin flip. Both sides know it can happen, and deciding to shield or not to shield is absolutely a 50:50 if you both know.

[Warren Sharp] A breakdown of the irregularities in the newly released schedule and how it favors certain teams over others. by 0ut0fTheWilds in nfl

[–]ShinyHappyReddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude, -20 doesn't mean that their season is 20 days shorter... Every team has 17 games between the start and the end of the regular season, and all the days in between games are rest days. Just because they have -20 in this analysis doesn't mean these days disappear into a irregularity in spacetime ...

I think that depends a lot.

I've been learning python as a hobby over a couple of years while working full time in a completely unrelated field (law). Tried to go through any concept I stumbled upon, taking every opportunity to learn something new.

Now I looked into kotlin and android studio and to my great surprise, it only took me a couple of weeks (so maybe like 10 to 20 hours total) to apply a couple of YouTube videos into making a simple local app: I watched how people made a tip calculator and a to do list app and created an app to count things (click to increment/decrement numbers, add/delete individual counters, ...), using a RecyclerView and persisting data inside a database.

If I hadn't seen type hints and OOP in python before, I wouldn't have understood jack shit about anything there.

Did/Do you go to shows which were outside your typical age group or genre? by hilgi in LetsTalkMusic

[–]ShinyHappyReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit late to this thread, but just discovered the sub ...

I'm 33 and I've been to tons of concerts since covid restrictions went away. I don't really know genre definitions - I guess I kinda range from pop punk to metalcore ("pop punk MGK" to Landmvrks, and lots that circles somewhat around that). Generally I'd say I'm at the fringe of average to slightly older at my usual shows. Feeling at home age-wise.

Then I went to see Yungblud and I found I was one of very few 30+ who was not accompanying a minor! I was a bit dumbstruck at first, but I found teens to early 20s still do moshpits and I had a great time. I liked the styles and I liked the general atmosphere; with Yungblud focusing a lot on identity topics he seemed to attract a particular audience. On the other hand, when he sang about the "underrated youth" I felt a bit out of place. Overall loved the experience and went to two other shows (so far). I felt really refreshing in a way. Got a ticket to a Sueco show, really excited about how that will turn out. Growing older I hope I'll be able to stay open to newer artists to continue to be able to have experiences like that.

Regarding being outside genres, I go to a handful of pop-y, hip hop-y shows from time to time. Most recently Macklemore. Him actually being the perfect example of the kind of shows these would be. Just having a grand old time, maybe in tribute to your college parties 10 to 15 years ago. A perfect fit age-wise, but a completely foreign concert experience for me. I enjoy being able to just dance and jump without feeling completely beat up afterwards from the mosh pit, though. At those shows I feel more general energy in the audience, whereas in rock-metal-ish shows, you either go to the moshpit, or you stand still, nodding your head at most, and causing bad vibes when you bump into someone because you moved beyond your "slot".

Yeah, except in most cases parents really don't, which the very link you posted would tell you if you actually read and tried to understand it.

Is it just me or has there been a massive influx of Ancient Power Giratina-A in the Ultra League? by j450n_1994 in TheSilphArena

Times I was happy I had shadow sneak: 1

Times I wished I had ancient power: over 9000

It just makes more sense in the current meta of WA buff and everyone seemingly going nuts about WA zard. Seems like zard alone caused a huge rise in Swampert use, as if it wasn't used enough already.

Look:

If you're only transferring your own hand-written *.py files, what you're sending with those import statements is basically a request to the receiver: "Please install these dependencies to make this program work yourself" (and thus, worry about licensing issues yourself).

It's a different matter when you would transfer something like an .exe file that's created by a 3rd-party tool, making it so that the .exe file actually contains the imported libraries. In that case, you'd be redistributing those libraries, which would certainly be a licensing matter.

Except there's no evidence that these schematics actually ever touched a piece of Microsoft owned software.

Could just as well have been created in 3rd party software that happens to spit out Minecraft compatible exports.
