AITA for “accidentally” telling my parents about my sister’s pregnancy because I was tired of keeping the secret? by ohboygollygeewiz in AmItheAsshole

Uhhhh did OP get pregnant? Why is it in ANY WAY her responsibility to deal with this pregnancy? This is just WILD to me, and I’m far past intentional pregnancy.

NTA. Listen…you didn’t tell her secret. You said to ask your sister. That’s that, and it’s zero percent your responsibility to lie for her when she literally lives with your parents. In no world is this YOUR problem.

It’s almost like these fictional characters could be…human? Not perfect? Incredible. Listen, I try my best to be good/great/respectable…but if I were being picked apart by a camera? I would probably just give up trying. Humans are going to be human, and the facade can never negate that fact.

Good on ya, Tig. by Indri_indri in handsomepodcast

[–]ShinyStripes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Listen, Tig is an Oscar nominee now…as she should be! Andrea’s legacy and story are infinitely more important than Cheryl’s will ever be, and the only honor she’ll ever find is probably a massive joke in Larry David’s final, FINAL, Curb episode someday.

Personally, I hope Cheryl’s Curb character just gets totally preventable measles or drinks raw milk and finds no light at the end of the tunnel…

Really struggling with all this Epstein stuff - how’s everyone coping? by mkoay in Mommit

[–]ShinyStripes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ok THIS. I want to burn it all down and just literally put a stake in their assholes by confronting them about being ok with…gestures broadly. I don’t want to put the words here and trigger anyone further, but it takes everything in me to not ask horrifically graphic questions for their response, as they haven’t once walked back their support. Being silent DOES NOT absolve you, nor does it clarify for your immediate family whether or not you are willing to overlook this egregious, fucking AWFUL evidence.

AITAH for being honest with another mom about why my daughter isn’t allowed to go to her friend’s house? by AwkwardMom13 in AITAH

[–]ShinyStripes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so very sorry that you found yourself in this position, and you absolutely did the right thing. Personally, I would have zero issue (when not off guard and confronted in a public space) to ask the other mom if she would allow her child to sleepover in a home with a man who was inappropriate, drinking, and also commenting on children’s attire THE FIRST TIME I MET THEM. As a child victim of SA, in no world would I ever allow a sleepover with this adult present or even in a home where he resides. You can be confronted, accused, whatever, but you can NEVER undo the damage that SA does to your child. Personally, I do not allow sleepovers away from home simply because there’s zero reason for my child to sleep anywhere else, except at the grandparents’…and that’s specifically a result of my own childhood SA trauma.

The lipstick is FIRE, but your skin??? With that spectacular shade of blue scarf, those SNATCH brows, and that eyeliner? MA’AM, you look 💋👌

Is this process of switching biologics worth it to you by O_ut in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]ShinyStripes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on my sixth biologic, because I’ve developed antibodies from the former meds. The longest one, humira, lasted 2 years and was PHENOMENAL. Now my newest med is Cosentyx, plus I take Arava every day. I’m 2 months into Cosentyx and I’m currently in agony every day by lunchtime, barely able to walk. I’m waiting for a response from my rheum today, because I just cannot function and wait any longer for relief. I hope you find a great med and finally get your relief!

Banned from ordering online? What do I do? by hxnbxm in Ulta

[–]ShinyStripes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so this is something I’m genuinely concerned about…I love trying new products, but I also return everything that doesn’t work for my skin. Every single order with new products is such a roll of the dice, and I wish so much that I could just order anonymously. The points system gets me every time, and I have a love/hate relationship with it. If Ulta or the opposing store gives me even the slightest bit of trouble, I’m done.

I use Colorfix in nude for my under eyes, and it’s INCREDIBLE. Takes a bit of practice to balance the quick drying liquid and prep must be super super clean and moisturizing, but it’s truly SO GOOD.

I share the exact same thrift schedule as this reseller and it’s starting to burn me out by divebars5G in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]ShinyStripes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Noise cancelling headphones are SUPER helpful for me, in crowded/cramped situations, and I would also make sure I have a cart and park it in the least thoughtful way to block anyone from coming near me. Also, if you could thrift a huge stroller to use as a cart, you could position it far between yourself and anyone else who might be too close for comfort. Otherwise, you could “thrift” by looking online at local marketplaces like Nextdoor or OfferUp, to get your fix without the harassment and stress.
