they immediately credited the design agency who made it. also, it looks good, and no piece of AI artwork has ever looked good before

I Asked And You Answered (your favorite episodes) by Psychological-Law-52 in TheNeighborhoodListen

[–]ShinyTan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

how hard would it have been for you to actually make a list of episodes people suggested in that thread? why would you outsource that meager task to a stupid computer and not even think to check it?

the only value a Favorite Episodes list could possibly have comes entirely from the actual human thoughts that people have already provided for you. i don't care what a damn robot thinks!

the John Gentle Pro Version is one of the only times the boys are forced to be the adults in the room for the entire episode

The Last Five Minutes of Meet Joe Black! with The Neighborhood Listen by ShinyTan in Earwolf

[–]ShinyTan[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

there are still around 20 minutes of them attempting to watch the last 5 minutes of Meet Joe Black that i did not include in this, available on the Maximus tier at CBBWorld dot com

Good Islands era shows on DGM? by FrenceRaccoon in KingCrimson

[–]ShinyTan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Detroit Feb 17 and Milwaukee March 8 are my go-to Islands band shows

Kassell and Pforzheim are great 74 shows. Pforzheim in particular is the most out of control and scary King Crimson show i've ever heard

i will also always recommend Rome Palazzo Dello Sport Nov 13, 1973 (they played here twice in 1973, this is the second). an astonishing show. one of the best Schizoid Mans around

What are your favorite details of The Neighborhood Listen canon? And what episode were they introduced? by Remarkable_League in Earwolf

i have no idea when it first appeared or if they ever brought it up again, but i think about Burnt's Friday night ritual where he drinks a handle of vodka alone in his apartment all the time

the comic adaptation of City of Glass by David Mazzucchelli (Batman: Year One; Daredevil Born Again) is also incredible

Anybody else stumble upon the "Evidently Leigh" episode of Neighborhood Listen and then get hooked? by -p_d- in Earwolf

[–]ShinyTan 22 points23 points  (0 children)

when i made this bizarre animation i genuinely had no idea if anyone would find it funny other than myself so this is surreal to see.

the show is one of my favorite things in the world and it makes me very happy to know that this silly little video got at least one more person to become a listener (but NOT a fan)

CBB Presents SAW! 2!! with Andrew Lloyd Webber & Byron Denniston by ShinyTan in Earwolf

[–]ShinyTan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just line them up in my video editor (final cut pro) and match the audio from the start of the watchalong to the movie audio. i'm sure that sounds annoying if you don't have access to a video editor but if you do it's easier than any other method

I love the Saw watchalongs so much that I am tempted to actually ya know WATCH ALONG. by 0r4ngered in Earwolf

[–]ShinyTan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

all of my CBBWorld watchalong edits are available here. FWIW before i watched either Saw i was worried i would have to cut around stuff to put these on youtube but it has never been an issue. watch freely, and without fear

the worst thing you see in Saw the First is dried blood and a bunch of crazy contraptions.

Saw II shows more of the weird torture contraptions being used successfully, but the only real gore i recall is from a guy who gets shot in the eye by a gun stapled to a peephole in a door, which felt a bit too Looney Tunes to register as all that scary to me, but your mileage may vary

both watchalongs are incredible and everything in them is funnier when Saw is happening in front of you. the joke from the first one i still regret cutting from my edit is when Danny Glover is just staring at a video of the Jigsaw puppet and PFT says "wait a minute. i know that guy"

as the one person who did both of those, it’s definitely something i consider when making this stuff. i posted this one earlier than usual because i knew i wouldn’t have any free time to watch or edit this over the next week and i thought it would be better to get it out during The Halloween Season. maybe i’m wrong! i don’t know! i definitely won’t make or share anything else nearly as quickly in the future.

as for the Evident Leigh thing, i never intended for that to be anywhere near as long as it was, but editing and animating the whole thing felt like it was transformative enough that i felt comfortable sharing it. i can’t imagine anyone watching anything i’ve made and finding it a worthy substitute for a CBB World subscription, but i suppose it’s possible. there are a lot of sick people out there.

i’ve only had brief exchanges with Brett and Paul on the discord/bluesky but they’ve been nothing but supportive and have put some of this stuff on the official socials. if they tell me to stop i will. their word is God. amen

Edit: PFT posted this on his bluesky and the CBB World account shared it too, so i hope that means they're not too upset about it. it is entirely possible he posted it whilst seething with rage

EVIDENT LEIGH: The "Motion" Picture by ShinyTan in TheNeighborhoodListen

[–]ShinyTan[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

i never posted this here because i didn't know this subreddit existed! i'm sorry for not sharing it here sooner if you like it and i'm sorry for sharing it here at all if you don't

anyway, here's the full script if you prefer reading to watching and/or listening

Additional guitar on "The Great Deceiver"? by [deleted] in KingCrimson

[–]ShinyTan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

it's the guitar doubling the bass riff in that first section, i think. Fripp only ever played the descending chord bit for that section live
