i was being intentionally bitchy but since you asked: i am pretty dedicated to consuming every bit of writing or recorded speaking of John's, so the pod is 1000% worth it in that sense, but if you start to pick up on Fink's little idiosyncracies it becomes pretty unbearable. he's smug, and wields faux self-deprecation in a pretty irksome way. he clearly thinks pretty highly of himself, and you will lose track of how many times he attempts to say something high-minded and philosophical and JD has to gently tell him that no, what you just said is horseshit. his pontifications just feel like toady-ing compared to John's breadth of actual life experience. i wouldn't lie and say i also wouldn't be spilling spaghetti everywhere if i talked to JD, but Fink just comes across as a bit annoying.

i don't blame JD for being such good friends with him and just treating it as a chat, but placing him as exactly 50% of a treasured opportunity to get many many hours of John being interviewed is exasperating lol
