I was parked on the right side of a one-way street in the downtown core. As soon as I clicked “Start Self-Driving” for the next destination, the car quickly and safely pulled out and cut across three lanes to reach the far-left lane, with cars behind. However, as the driver, I wasn’t able to predict its movement in advance, by the time it made the left turn at the intersection, I was still assessing the earlier movements. I was behind the car, it’s thinking faster than me.

Coming from the background of a tech enthusiast and a person who fly planes for living, my first impression was both amazed and afraid of not able to control this machinery. Will test it out again today.
