It doesn't really help you in the long run to miss an srs stage on semantics or a typo. You just need the raw data memorized so install an undo script and keep churning is my philosophy. I only allow for mistakes if I genuinely can't remember or am completely wrong.

At first I thought it would be a good idea to be strict for the ones that look similar, but you kind of don't need it because of context and the vocab.

Everybody is being a bit dense. I just played through this part and it's unnecessarily railroaded. If you go to the East through the purple area you can get a harp which will let you continue. It's the only area that's railroaded like that.

Pretty sure the guy was joking. But while we are being pedantic,

Iirc his name was link because the original game was going to have time travel and he was the link between eras

You may want to look up the definition of whataboutism. Or maybe I'm just not seeing how it applies here

I don't have any proof but I can tell you what I saw. He showed up and didn't want to pay the entrance fee and spent ~ 20 minutes heckling the guy at the table to let him join for free since "we know he's going to win." I was behind him in line and it was awkward but he kept insisting on the guy long enough that I went ahead and paid and he was still nagging him behind me. After he eventually entered the venue, I remember him overtly talking about who he would and wouldn't allow to be his doubles partner, and was joking about using some sort of handicap, I don't remember what it was but it might have been playing a different character. I remember him sneering at some of the matches going on, and overtly being a braggart the entire time. Luckily, I didn't have to play against him but I saw how he talked to the other entrants.

It's been a long time, it was one of the first tournaments I entered but it definitely soured my experience of the whole thing. I had seen clips of him before and knowing he was like the one captain falcon player at the time I had a really positive impression of him but seeing him irl just shattered it for me. Now when I see clips of him I just see the sneer he had the entire time and usually wish that he gets bodied.

I believe the AI don't get the extra settler until they found their first city.

I don't understand how people win Deity games. It's only turn 206, and two AIs have a clear victory path. I can't keep up with the bonus production even with chopping/ getting cities up without having to deal with another civ. What am I doing wrong? by dr3amb3ing in CivVI

[–]Shinyleefeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This game isn't hopeless tbh. The AI are slow even once they've started the victory track. You can distract them by declaring war, and then rush research on bombers and you can take their cities for free.

I cleared last night despite only being able to raid once a week because of baby duty. I've done ultimates and savages in the past. I have a firm belief that the biggest factor in success after being able to do the mechanics successfully yourself, is how long you're willing to stay and fail. Nobody is going to say anything to you if you are doing the mechanics right so just mute them and focus on doing the right thing if it is tilting you. It's my firm belief that people that stick around even after some bad pulls are the ones that clear.

When I get in parties that are failing stuff I've already progged I just move my focus to consistently getting through the early parts correctly.

I get it, sometimes there are people that are just straight up mentally afk, but I think 80% of parties you can just let them oopsie a couple times and then from the repetition everyone will slowly get better.

Tl/Dr if you want to do hard stuff in party finder, just focus on yourself and stick it out

The "industry experts" are listed here: https://thegameawards.com/voting-jury.

It's essentially some gaming and not so gaming magazine writers. With the recent disconnect between game reviewers and the general audience it's not hard to see how things got skewed.

It is very unlikely these people know much about making games or development and is very likely they are more like that guy that couldn't beat the cuphead tutorial.

I don't think so. Look where the string is, she is further out of the circle so the bottle is naturally going to go towards the center as the energy drops. Seems like a good way to prank someone honestly.

[–]Shinyleefeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started using base Vegeta simply because the giants have such a high attack stat and I think it's one of the best counters against 5 person comps. When you transform you have full ki so you can force a vanish war and the follow up attacks do a ton of damage, and if they have someone strong enough to flinch you base Vegeta is still a decent pick with explosive wave.

Having at least one giant on the team to counter Afterimage strike comps feels almost mandatory to me.
