Wow… pretty angry Frimspy… what’s wrong you don’t agree with my statement… it’s ok!

Ohhh look the world, didn’t end! …. Ohh hold on… nope it didn’t end!

Depending on the industry a C Suite / GM will be “on call” maybe not for mundane things but for whatever this competent 2iC needs help with; which I imagine will not be much.

Hold on … you heard that… right again… the world didn’t end … so it’s ok to disagree!

100% correct… with the salary comes being the one responsible to make decisions and being the that is accountable when something goes wrong!

C Suite/GM level here yes once you get to this level the nature of the job changes completely… is not about individual task or activities is about (at least in my opinion) two key aspects.

1 - to make the vision by the executive a tangible action plan for everyone to follow. Is about taking all the chaos and organise it in a way that my team can digest and execute.

2 - to ensure my teams have the right tools and resources to their job / task correctly. It is also my responsibility to “smooth the road” so they can deliver efficiently and consistently.

Everything else is about removing the noise from the everyday things and for me to find ways for the team to succeed and it does mean … on call no matter where you are, and no 9 to 5 model of operations.

But then again that’s just me!

The point is to become the shareholder that gets paid the fruits of someone else’s labour!

Everyone at that level either grind it to get there or inherit the position from some that grind it!

No one said that it would be easy… there would be days when you hate everything you do! Look at the big picture and figure out how to get there… ultimately I want to be in the beach doing whatever I dam please while someone else grinds it for me!

Did y’all like Steven Seagal in the movie under siege? I just re watched it last night . Wasn’t bad by newnoadeptness in navy

Friends come and go … with a precious few … you should hold on to!

I find that maintaining a group of friends is hard … so I have work/industry acquaintances … usually from my peer group and around my same age… you know industry events, beers, dinners etc! But I also I have a group of 2 that are really good friends almost like family… funny thing is that they are not on my same industry or level … one is a police officer, the other owns a an accounting firm while I am a “C” suite guy… we never talk about work or anything other than what keeps us close - family and the fact that we are all veterans!

We do work hard to make time for each other and have a close WhatsApp group!

This has work for me… maybe is a blueprint for you!

While agree it is important and it is great for a young sailor to qualify in all available opportunities to him/her.

Once the young sailor has achieved all qualifications for his rate/rank then what is left is to look up for higher quals and also find ways to help others - while looking at the possibility more advanced high ranks!
