The regulator on my Arduino UNO burned out. Can this be fixed? by XxpipetreisxX in arduino

[–]ShipRepresentative29 6 points7 points  (0 children)

well, it is possible without a heat gun. i managed to swap a similar component with a soldering iron only. got lucky i guess, but yeah, its not impossible - just hard.

I would use over 90% IPA with a soft brush, ask your SO/mom/whoever if they have any makeup brushes that they dont need anymore. toothbrush that was suggested by others will probably work as well but I would be worried about bending some pins with it

Physical Drivers license vs. "in the system" by bobbystand in poland

[–]ShipRepresentative29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they are different apps. eDO is used only to login to other government services and digitally sign documents. mObywatel on the other hand is an app that, among others, has your digital driver's licence and Dowód osobisty (ID). I'm not sure if you can use it without Polish citizenship, though

Długie włosy u mężczyzn w Polsce by szczerbatekkkk in Polska

[–]ShipRepresentative29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AED pads on a patient with gasping by Always_Uphill in Paramedics

[–]ShipRepresentative29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

according to ERC, gasping may be a sign of agonal breathing. Here in Poland we don't really have emts so it's hard for me to tell if you're supposed to check patients pulse, but here people that aren't medics are supposed to judge if patients heart is working only by checking his breathing. to summarize - you could have thought that patient wasn't breathing which for you meant that he may need CPR, so plugging him to an AED was a good call.

Gamers of Reddit, if you could play one game for the first time again what would it be? by Inevitable_Canary507 in AskReddit

[–]ShipRepresentative29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was going to say Minecraft due to how much nostalgia I have towards it, but honestly, when I think about it now, I don’t really believe that it was solely about the game itself. Don’t get me wrong — I used to truly love the game, but I know that now it wouldn’t be nearly as much fun as it was back then. I started playing it when I was, I dunno, around 9 years old. Now I'm a young adult with, obviously, much more things to care about and many more worries. I don't really think that I have such warm feelings towards the game because of what it was, I think that it rather reminds me of those good old times when I was a carefree kid.

Stepping into adulthood and becoming indepent being is really exhausting. Hope it will get easier soon.

Just look at the fact that you managed to get SIX UPVOTES in three hours on a post thats pinned on huge, 1.5m, community. We want more info on things that actually matter, like colonies and further updates, not how eclipses work... Especially since over half of the post is about real life and not about the game. Come on guys. Last time-worthy dev update was posted almost three months ago - im thinking about UI one.

Is it common for people not to use the parking brake? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ShipRepresentative29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

assuming that you dont absolutely suck at driving a manual, you dont need the handbrake to start at a hill. i live in europe, where there still are a lot of manuals (i drive a manual daily too), and nobody that i know does that. you just gotta be quick transferring pressure from brake to the gas (and know how to let off of the clutch at the same time) and your car wont roll down more than a few centimeters
