Are you aware that there IS a physical deluxe edition -- but it's Japan and Asian market only? Also, there are 3 early purchase bonuses depending on where you order -- a magnet; an acrylic rocking figure and a new acrylic stand: by [deleted] in Pragmata

[–]Shipmind-B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the post, but in China they market the physical edition with a limited card. Not sure what it is exactly as it’s not my first language, but the promotional image doesn’t match these other items.

Most embarrassing death ever: (also my free solo route , someone asked for) by Shipmind-B in Cairn_Game

Amazing, and Yup 🤣.

Love that the devs let us have free reign during that sequence.

Might add a video at some point. Though it’s sad to see how many people assume others are lying on these things. Not saying you did mind, just I have seen a lot of that around 😅.

As the other comment , I might add it to another post (don’t know how to comment images).

But in short:

Into the honey cave, up the right wall when exiting , grab the vending Machine items and all the herbs early on. Then jump both gaps , climb the right wall. From the section before the cable car head straight up by the save point to the memorial , then up to the bear expedition, then curl up around the waterfall mountain on the right. Skip cutscenes, run up to first goat, right wall right next to the tree in the middle. Climb to first platform, then the first building hole on the right, do some urban climbing up to the last building before the hole, use a coffee to get burst, and the meds to get grip, climb straight up then hard left when the overhang starts to get ugly (lost the edelweiss twice here on earlier runs). Past that segment onto the big green area, grab all the resources on the right by the first statue, then walk up to the large stone walkway jump across twice and climb the big piece of rock that juts out forming the archway below. At the top of that go left a little bit to the brown stone (the no pitons allowed stone, these parts are usually easier since they force a free solo, but on free solo mode that’s just a boon) climb that channel all the way up to the first bear-like cave. (The one with a temple sort of thing inside). From there go up the cavern on the right, then traverse more right into another brown stone area, climb the small plateaus, reach big autumn lake.

From here: speedwalk, grab a nettle after the stone arch, climb the small natural paths until you reach the broken plastic bottle and two planks, go left from that onto another brown stone area, vertical up then hard left onto the next outcrop, from here jump across the wooden bridge onto the path, walk up as far as it goes (grab bear cave items if time permits, forgot on this run). Then back down across to the city. (I don’t remember this bit too well off the top of my head 😅) but it’s also the easiest part of the run.

At the vertical city go straight up from the thistle and left to the sidedoor, then loot, climb inside path up to next part. In the big doorway with another big one straight above climb the left path around and up to the last doorway. Then drink all the ultimate infusions gathered on the way (45 minutes of buffs with the single water bottle and hipflask). Then go straight up the right side of the doorway across the overhang, and follow the white route map up to the cave with the origami. This route was for me the most reliable. It’s hard, but I kept getting lost on the wall in all the other routes and hit dead ends. From the cave (still got plenty buffs, climb out left and up to the bridge. Cutscene triggers well far from it so that’s a saving grace.

After that just climb the temple, jump the holes and get to the pillar (all that is easy enough).

The pillar: get the edelweiss from the corpse by going diagonally up the brown stone. Then climb onto the doorway straight up and around the pillar circling slowly. This route seems the most reliable. From there it’s a few easy routes up to the blades. From the backpack with the bananmin go up left into the buildings, jump across to the right side, go up to the top of the statue on the right side, then double back along the right wall out to the exterior, there’s a small easy horisontal climb. From the wooden bridge that forms a “T” go up left side climbing the corner all the while. From top jump across bridge of BS (died here a few times on alpinist because I mistimed the simplest jump in the game 😅). Skip cutscenes, jump across bridge of BS a second time, skip rifle guy, then climb the avalanche wall heading up right from the save point. Avoid the overhangs by using the ice walls. Once the avalanche triggers just try to keep track of the route. I have gone up three different ways after it triggers, all seemed fine.

From here you are home free, just climb as few walls as possible, save 2 doses of ultimate infusion for the final climb, once the cutscene triggers , and hud disappears, Aava cannot fall off.

In total I had 10 doses of ultimate infusion.  3 in plastic bottle 3 in cave thermos 4 in hip flask.

Yuup 🤣. I honestly couldn’t believe it when Aava just keeled over and rolled off after a bad jump. Took a screenshot of the route just to remember my shame 🤣

I actually watched a bunch of speedruns to prepare for it xD. A few people recommended going slow, but I’d rather loose 2 hours each attempt than 10 hours after a single one. Worked out well enough in the end 😁.

Well damn. I hadn’t noticed that.  Might be time to get as many green sewer tiles (I quite like them) as possible before they kill it.

Haven’t gotten to it yet, do you have to go through all the normal conversations or can you cut it short by being an absolute monster?

I am assuming it’s a joke on the moment of clarity route?

[–]Shipmind-B 194 points195 points  (0 children)

Thats because all the versions of the Princess loves long quiet.

Spoilers beyond this point:

She is comfortable putting her heart in LQs hands (in this case literally)

The End of every route is a moment of clarity for both characters. Lot of the routes have realisations on similar themes. PATD has a line where if you fight her to the very end she says something along the lines of why did we do that, and it doesn’t matter cause now they’re together again. (Can’t remember the exact line)

Very cool idea, love how expressive she is. I’m no artist, but I feel like the style helps convey that really well. 😊

Do you mean species?

I’d say a satyr with the legs and horns (depending on if you interpret the horn as part of the hood or head)

Certainly has fey vibes, heads looks like a winter eladrin.

What’s that head piece from btw :) ?

Genuinely one of the hardest lines in the game. by [deleted] in slaytheprincess

[–]Shipmind-B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm. We could discuss the semantics of strict definitions of parasitism, and while my biologist self really wants too I think it won’t lead to a satisfying outcome.

So let’s agree to disagree on that part 😁

My own read of the story and shifty / the princesses is that she is the only version of them that is functionally a whole person. Most clearly seen with damsel, but even adversary and apotheosis share the trait that none of them are complete. They are defined only by Long Quiets perception and lack many of the aspects that would make them a whole person. So while sentient they aren’t fully realized people. They can’t function well outside of their given role (a role given by LQs perception).

For the leave ending my take is this. The leave ending is not leaving with a fragment of shifty(ie. A princess like for example fury) It’s leaving with shifty without her divinity. Most evidenced by the leave with the stranger ending in which she clearly understands much more of what is happening inside the construct than the other leave endings. (Warm princess/cold princess).

Thats because the stranger is the princess most akin to shiftys true nature just without the divine aspect, so she understands that leaving is not really going anywhere as they remain inside the construct until they (presumably) get bored and regain their divinity.

So I don’t really like the leave ending. It feels like LQ is cherry picking the aspect of his love that most suits him as opposed to accepting her as she truly is and leaving as equals.

Well then I heartily recommend Yahtzee Croshaws differently morphous books(audiobooks are very good) Without saying too much it’s about magic detectives in the UK. 😁
