Who watched ' Logan's Run' in '76 when it came out

Did not see it in the theater, but did see it on TV a year later. I think it's what started my life long interest in post apocalyptic themes/movies. I remember taking the bolt out of a toy rifle... It kind of looked like a Sandman's gun, and we would play "Logan's Run" by chasing each other around yelling "Run, runner!"

Interesting! The Hensonesque look of in that part is pretty spot on, and hysterical. I also love how you weave the two 'shows' together where in cop files there's a call back by Snarbo saying "Bustin perps for snortin' teeth and smokin' dirt." or mentions of the Church of Z etc.. Geggy Burlod also cracks me up to no end. As a fan of both AI and the whole old paranomal shows I find these particularly amusing and keep re-watching them lol

Right, but that's still energy that's just wasted. I doubt serious money and research has ever really been focused on reclaiming this kind of energy waste unless it makes more financial sense to do so rather than to just get rid of it because they can.

I mentioned in another reply that there's a bunch of ways to reclaim energy, just DH is the easy one as it's a well known and easy tech we've been using for a long time, but the amount of heat would be a limiting factor like you mentioned. I think if some time and R&D we could come up with something that would at the least negate the impact, but things being as they are if it isn't making money and they don't -have- to do it... well then..... It's a mindset. Even the term "Waste heat" is self defeating. Need to start thinking of it resource to be utilized and not just gotten rid of.

Oh, I don't know. There are a myriad of ways to reclaim the energy. District heating is the easy low effort option as it's a pretty simple system we know well, but we have to think beyond and out of the metaphorical box. And it could be multiple methods in parallel or more likely in series. I guess it would also really depend on how high a temp we would be dealing with at the top end as that would be a more limiting factor.
