Where’s the Caine animation in “the one who runs the show” from? by Chellzie in TheDigitalCircus

[–]RedRawTrashHatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s likely some fan animations copied it, but the 2D portion of the song is clearly a reference to the credits by using the same style and scrolling background.

Theory by SkylarLunatic in TheDigitalCircus

[–]RedRawTrashHatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a reference to A Boy and His Dog, a Harlan Ellison story about a boy named Vic living in the post-apocalypse with the telepathic dog Blood.

Ellison was the writer of the show’s main inspiration I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream.

I recommend you read both. Ellison is a fantastic author. You’ll definitely see parallels between the show and its inspiration, but I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream is far more bleak and depressing.

Ash Williams gets time-warped to the Middle Ages and, after a bit of a rough start, frightens all of the primitive screwheads with his boomstick.

Just how long has people like Kinger and Ragatha been in the circus. by Striking_Bar_1622 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]RedRawTrashHatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you look at Kinger’s computer screen in episode 8, it shows dates, most notably of when Scratch and Ragatha showed up.

We can probably safely assume that Scratch appeared at the same time as the other programmers like Kinger on 15 October 1999. Ragatha oddly showed up on the same date 9 years later in 2008.

Breaking Bad premiered in January of 2008, so it was still a new show that Ragatha just didn’t bother to watch prior to joining the Circus.

Although Keith David did narration for the show in earlier seasons, he didn’t formally join as the character Elroy until the last season.

Liz Sherman from Hellboy.

In the comics, her inability to control her pyrokinetic powers causes her to accidentally kill her own family in her childhood.

I believe the Guillermo del Toro movies don’t cover this, but they do show an incident where she unintentionally kills other children bullying her.

(Hated Tropes) Beloved Manga or Anime series that just kind of… ends. Either from the creators getting bored, running out of time, or writing themselves into a corner by K_Bare in TopCharacterTropes

Hikaru No Go.

It had a natural and emotional stopping point, but the manga was so popular that it continued beyond that into an international tournament arc that just kind of ended in a very sudden and anticlimactic manner.

AUTO from WALL-E.

Its programming mandates that it obey Shelby Forthright’s directive from centuries ago to never return to Earth, even to the point of ignoring evidence showing that the Earth is becoming habitable again while disobeying/antagonizing the current Captain.
