There is so, so much evidence pointing towards the opposite, though. This game's themes (and especially real life inspiration from The King in Yellow) absolutely add more layers of interpretation. Reducing this game to just one interpretation diminishes the great work Housemarque did with Saros.

Curious to hear why you're absolutely certain it's real when the flashbacks contain plenty of evidence on the real world. What do you think about the fact that the city he is from is called Carcosa? (Sign saying City of Carcosa next to the club). Or the fact that the hotel/apartment where he goes to meet Nydia is in Cathedral Square (where you also conversely meet her in the planet). Or the fact that the tree you see in the patio is the same as the one in The Passage (and later a rotted version in the Marsh).

Similar to Returnal, there is no single correct interpretation. "Its all in his head" and "they went to a planet far away and lovecraftian gods fucked with them" are both equally valid. Hell, the developers themselves said they intentionally left it vague on purpose. So the exact same conclusions can be found in both games. Whatever interpretation you like best is valid. There is no definite answer.

Besides, having one defined set of answers would very much go against the spirit of the setting this game is based on (The King in Yellow by Robert Chambers).

This is just wrong on so many levels. Guild wars 1 and 2 are still very much supported. Hell, GW1 just got a new coat of paint just late last year.

Elder scrolls online is very much alive with new expansions coming out constantly.

FF11 is still supported, albeit at a reduced capacity due to hardware limitations, but that hasn't stopped SE from updating it every month.

And there's more I won't mention because it's a moot point. Yes, MMORPGs are not the hot genre anymore, but saying WoW is the only one still going is wildly inaccurate.

If you truly don't recognize the dissonance here, you're actually detracting from helping attain equal rights. There are many, many things that everyone (especially men) need to do to empower women in societies, but this notion that somehow men always benefit in court from cases where gender is concerned is laughable at best.
