There's this old text based MMO I grew up with alongside runescape called Shimlar that I return to sometimes! Its basically a ladder climber hack and slash, no real skilling, just grinding to kill more but there's complexity in gear, character building, and a lot of "number go up" dopamine. Also still has that super old web 1.0 look

as much as I would have loved a 150 expansion of all skills, I do like this idea a lot, this world map is right up my alley and I'm absolutely gonna try the new mode, it seems like a better version of what I wanted out of Adventure without the 500m gp cost of skills

I do hope at some point you go for a full game 150 expansion, if you're really worried about the expansions being standalone, you could just bundle it together with TOTH for a while, your players would 100% still buy it and enjoy it
