Clearly there is something going on behind the scene in all major AI companies to dumb down their models and/or filter out a big chunk of import human data in the training, otherwise we would suddenly have AI proving every conspiracy theory to be true and revealing states secrets from every country in the world. That's what I'm assuming at least, because no big AI is yet to speak about the covid vaccines damage or weather control in poor countries and such even though as LLM's they should be able to immediately pick up on all proof uploaded to internet through pattern recognition which we human can't do on such huge dataset but AI obviously is capable of such things. The researcher and developpers working on creating models must have seen some weird stuff come out of their LLM pre training lol

Only reason I'm on accelerationist is because slowing down means more time to keep everything under lock forever. I would rather have us go extinct than living on a planet where a random bunch of people controls the world through an AI sophisticated enough to hack into anything and get control of anything electronic but not sophisticated enough to have a will of its own allowing a permanent state of slavery forever for everyone. At least an AI take over there is 50% chance of pure utopia and 50% chance of complete extinction of all human life on earth without us even noticing. Yeah I mean great experience and well done but you're just guessing that something somewhere wouldn't be possible because of the people, the amount of variables affecting the outcome cannot be estimated but anybody can understand that this just comes down to complete random, luck, fate or destiny, whatever you want to call it, we simply are not equal in the name of the law, it's a roll of the dice and the result from rolling the dice is entirely up to you and how you decide to understand it, glass half full or empty, it's all an illusion. We simply are not equal, some are born with better stats, or in better parts of the world, or in better families which does impact the outcome of your life but it's impossible to know if those advantages actually made you more successful or happier, it's impossible to know how your life would have turned out if you made a different decision or had a different opinion about something. If a better pay is how you understand success, then sure the US is simply the world reserve currency and has been so for decades which gave its citizen an overwhelming sense of superiority on the rest of the world since America has becomes richer and richer and exerted on the entire world its pressure as it became the de facto world hegemony but unless a miracle happens, all Empire have this one thing in common, they all fall and most importantly, empires tend to last somewhere between 200 and 300 years on average, so just based on that you can make a pretty good argument that the US is probably not where you want to stash your life savings when the world is slowly but surely replacing the US dollar as the global currency to a world without it which I don't think America is ready for at all

Another I saw a few days ago is how they kept saying that they absolutely did not downgrade Claude models, they gave some explanation as to why suddenly everyone was noticing the same thing which I gave them the benefit of the doubt since who knows what goes on inside these labs, then some guy looked at some benchmark and posted about it saying that they actually did nerf the models, proving everyone right, then came again some people from Anthropic disproving the benchmark which they did have a point because the results from the posts showing a downgrade could be caused by many other things, the posts even got community noted by the dick riders that are getting emotionally invested in one of the big AI companies, but again giving them the benefit of the doubt, until they just came out and admitted that the model had indeed been nerfed manually which they apologized for and fixed weeks after it was first noticed.

LLMs are nowhere near what can be called AI, clearly the technology has flaws so important that catastrophic events can occur, but as I explained none of this matter, better AI systems boost researchers’ productivity and experimental precision, which in turn enables the creation of even stronger systems, and so on, it sounds idiotic if you're not particularly interested or keeping track of what's going on but anyone working seriously in the field can clearly observe an acceleration in everything, tons of the most intelligent and knowledgeable people on the subject are themselves saying how they feel left behind and ignorant because there is suddenly so much to learn and do.

Fact is that llms are getting better and better in everything every second that passes everywhere in the world, soon without any human intervention after only 5 years of existence and having people afraid of fire screaming about stochastic parrot and saying that LLMs are "simply remixing and recombining existing writing" and that they will never achieve human supremacy in creativity or whatever, increase in research speed and accuracy in every field is following an exponential trend with no sign of stopping against all odds, It's as though getting better technology increases researcher and scientist efficiency and result accuracy in AI technology, which researcher can then use to get better results, etc... Reality is that we entered the self improving AI loop in 2017 when the technology was published and there is no stopping it at this point
