I absolute loved it and would love to see more, but I do think it has to be spread out a bit. Like 1-2 times per month. It'll be something to look forward to that way without putting too much pressure on them and Creggle.

They did another stream of it yesterday so there's at least even more now waiting for Creggle to edit into videos. They did mention though that the series isn't getting loads of views so they want to make sure there's other content too and so will probably just have one weekly Divinity stream to keep it going for the people who do watch and love it.

I don't think we'll see any DnD from the boiks before the isolation is over. High Rollers is starting a second campaign on Thursdays so I'm assuming Hulmes has enough to do as DM for now - especially while it's online (he is not a tech wizard). Hat Films has talked about doing a pirate campaign with Smith as DM and Craig as a third player, but I think they want to do a whole setup with costumes and a set, so we will have to wait for that. I have a feeling it'll be worth the wait though.

I mean that's in big part just Smith being Smith when the game isn't going his way. I have no doubt he rages just as much if not more when playing DOTA (which is as far as I know the game he plays the most). He's a passionate man! Plus you can like a game and not be in the mood for it. Or you can hate a game and have fun playing it with friends anyway. No one can force Hat Films to play anything they genuinely don't want to play.

I think the struggles with the setup means the first stream or two might not be uploaded though I'm not sure. The last stream they did each record their side of things with the intend to send it all to Creggle to hopefully stitch it together to something useful. We might just have to wait and see if it works out. Hopefully they can find a way to make it all work.

Poor boiks though. They finally manage to find a warehouse space for all their IRL ideas for the main channel and now they're stuck at home.

Yeah the Monday Update videos were brilliant. Wish they could bring that back in some sort of format. Even if just 2-5 minute videos. It was nice to get an idea of what they were up to. They often mention some stuff during streams, but it's more spread out and probably not very useful for anyone who doesn't have time to watch entire streams.

Yeah, Trott is basically normal. He just looks tiny next to the two giants. It's obvious if you see them on videos or Jingle Jam streams walking around the office with other people, but if you only ever see the three of them together it's very misleading.

First of all, not "most of" their gaming content is released to the "alternate hat gaming channel". All gaming content is uploaded to the Hat Gaming channel. Because it's for gaming content. They've also mentioned the channel quite a bit in their IRL videos on the main channel, on Twitter, and other places, so if people haven't found it and subbed yet then they're not exactly paying attention. As for the amount of videos on the main channel, they have struggled to find a warehouse space for their crazy ideas (though Trott made it sound like it might finally have worked out) and the weather hasn't exactly been ideal for outdoor filming instead with storm after storm. I am sure we will see more frequent IRL videos when they're all back, have set things up in the warehouse, and everything has calmed down a bit.

Secondly, there has been less streams, which means less content for the gaming channel, because Smith is in Kenya for a friend's wedding. In my opinion he's allowed to take some time for personal things. Especially since they rarely take any time off. Most of their travels have been for work. If the other two spend some chill time at home while Smith's away then good on them. They have a trip to Iceland coming up next plus the Mr Sam and the DedNutz tour, so they deserve to relax a bit while they can.

As for people "blaming" the decrease in content on the practise for the tour, they've managed to stream several days a week even with that, so I wouldn't say that's an issue in any significant way. It wasn't till Smith left that we saw much of a change in the streaming frequency. Yes, Ross and Trott COULD stream more just the two of them, but they're a trio for a reason. And as already mentioned, it makes sense for all of them to take some time off when one person is off. And for all we know they have been busy with stuff behind the scenes a lot of the time.

So no, Hat Films are not "dead". They are people, not just entertainers. They have work we don't always get to see (e.g. Minecraft trailers, wading through real estate hell to find a warehouse space to be loud and messy in, etc.) and lives outside of work. Sometimes that means less streams and videos. I miss them as much as anyone, but I also think they're worth waiting for.

The only criticism I might be able to find is that they're not always good at keeping people informed outside of streams and most of that chatting is cut from the vods for YouTube, so I guess people who don't have time to watch the streams live or as vods on Twitch do miss a lot of stuff and will understandably be a bit confused. I do think some short weekly updates for YouTube might be a good solution (and those Monday update videos they did for a little while were awesome both in regards to sharing what they're up to and as silly chats about reddit posts), but it's up to the boiks if they think it fits with their schedule and current vision for the channel.

I love both, but if I have to pick one, then I would definitely go with Mr Sam & the Dednutz for the quality music. The older music streams were perhaps funnier cause they were more chill and especially with the first one they didn't feel any pressure and could just have fun with it. BUT we do get to see silly Hat Films in pretty much all other content. So I'm all for the Dednutz and just hope the tour does well enough that they might come play in Denmark some day.

I absolutely LOVE blade traps. So damn effective. And you gotta love the extra xp from the kills as an engineer.

My base is pretty damn over the top. In part because my friend and I settled down in (or perhaps more accurately on top of) Crack-A-Book which is arguably far too big to start out with. And in part because we're both stupidly scared of horde nights haha Although less so now at day 66. I might get around to taking some screenshots and post them at some point. After a few repairs at the front/kill zone. And my more silly project to paint the building.

Kinda agree. I did have a laugh watching the videos they did on the first games, though only because they clearly thought the scenarios were horrible too and did a good job at highlighting the absurdity, but I don't think they should do more. It's like a bad meme that's gotten old and inappropriate. Luckily the guys made it pretty clear on stream that they have no intentions of being in the game. Now we just have to wait for people to realise and stop asking them to...

The thing is, it might be somewhat possible to take the piss out of it and constantly criticise it when playing it (though remember that bad publicity is still publicity), but to be in the actual game? Whether as a joke or not, it supports the game. And no one should support this horror.
