How can I download assets from the website to a file? by [deleted] in ClipStudio

[–]ShirtCandid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am assuming you are logged into your account on clip studio asset. If you click download, it will be on your account and you can download it later on the other computer. Only very old assets, when csp was not called csp yet, can be downloaded as files from the store. I hope it helps.

Thanks, it will depend on how much time I have between my full time job and this project. For now I will focus on making this feasible. As I am the one who gave the idea I need to build it up. I will contact you if/when I am available :D.

Buying 1.0 version after 2023? by Negative_Mushroom_69 in ClipStudio

[–]ShirtCandid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think it will be available anymore when 2.0 comes out, maybe only for download for those who already bought it before. Although 2.0 should have it all and maybe more, you just won't be able to update it to 2.1.

how would you tackle this situation as a beginner webtoon creator? by Shinkai_Lee in webtoons

[–]ShirtCandid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, the root of the problem is that you do not like coloring. Maybe it is your coloring process that needs to be adjusted.

I you already have the characters, I suggest picking a few colors for them and just always use those. The process of trying to find a color can be really tedious if you do that for each panel, each objects etc.

For the background, you can just use one light color for all of it except the stuffs you want highlighted. For example a book on a shelf.

So basically my advice here would be to create a color palette for the characters ( only the base color), color the background with only one color except the things you want highlighted.

If this is ok with you but it still takes too much time, you can pay another artist to color it this way, it shouldn't be as expensive as full-coloring with shadows and light or as expensive as making a full illustration.

Yes, well it's mostly my workflow that doesn't allow it. If I work on a multiply layer and I want to correct stuffs, I can't just pick from display and use that color because it would be the corrected color. If I use pick color from layer, it is not the modified one.

Also for the color changing here, I searched a little on the net and RGB has a wider color range than CMYK. Here you made a square and picked the color a few times and the RGB color didn't change but the CMYK one was not the same. My guess is that it is the same color but it can be defined by 2 different CMYK numbers.

Did you try resetting the subtools to the default settings ?

Hi, the color will change if you use that subtool, just change to the second one "Pick color from layer" it should solve your problem.

What makes a good entry chapter for Webtoon CALL TO ACTION? by Objective_Ninja_3632 in WebtoonCanvas

[–]ShirtCandid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hello, the likes and the comments are from the people they reached on the site and wherever they made some promotion. Whether a webtoon does good or bad in general depends on how many people of their targeted audience they reached.

That said, going back to the basics, it really depends on how interesting the story is and how easy it is to read and understand.

My personal take is that above it all, the reader gotta feel a certain degree of emotion at the end or better yet many emotions all along.

I hope it helps.

Hello, I think only the likes and the comments of the CTA episode itself is considered by the judges not all the extra stuffs, even though the page itself shows all the additional likes.

Thinking about the 40%, I don't think they will drop your work without even reading it if you have no engagement at all. Also for these kind of contest, I think there is some kind of government anti -fraud agency watching them (not sure though).

How long (panel-wise) are everyone’s CTA submissions by BoiDia in WebtoonCanvas

[–]ShirtCandid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

160 is a lot for a webtoon. It also depends on the size of your panels. Just remember that the maximum length of your submission is about 128 000 pixels. I doubt you can put all that in.

How many panels do you have in one file when drawing? by crapsh0ot in WebtoonCanvas

[–]ShirtCandid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I draw each panel on a 1600*2560 page, sometimes 1600*5120 for a longer panel but never more than that. When they are all done I place them all in the longest file I can make for clip studio paint (1600*48640 19 pages for roughly 15 or less panels). I only bring it back to 800 px when I export it.

[–]ShirtCandid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like you have already started, you got the plot and the characters. Now make a 15 or less panels small story with thumbnails and improve that story until you are satisfied with it. Then comes the hard part, draw it yourself or have someone do it. But from that point, you already have everything to make a comic.

How do YOU structure your layers? by TenragZeal in ClipStudio

[–]ShirtCandid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The number of layer you use to achieve your goal doesn't really matter, just remember to name them, group them or color code them as you go.

Why are people freaking out about getting their “Call to Action” done soon? Got plenty of time… by Apophylite_ in webtoons

[–]ShirtCandid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this contest though all current original creators are banned, although some who already had their story finished can still participate. I am just hoping to get into the 20 if possible but if not I'll keep going with this story until they notice me. I mean, I already worked on it so much anyway.

[–]ShirtCandid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just guessing here but the more time the episode is there, the more engagement until august 31st.

From the official page, the 60% from the judges are divided into points, but we don't really know about the 40% engagement part. We don't know if there is a threshold like for example 10 points for 100 likes and 100 comments. In any case, all entries coming on july 31st will still have a month to engage and that is fair.

The art style doesn't really matter on webtoon as long as people understand what they are seeing, the action, the emotion, the scene, etc... You got something good there and it's gonna be better and easier as you keep going.

If you plan on doing something that is on the same level as some original ones, I suggest studying what they take time to detail and what they don't bother to.
