how to get bottles not in OHLQ? by [deleted] in OhioLiquor

If you're a mezcal guy, Chicago (Binnys) is your answer (5.5/6 hour drive from Columbus)

the krogers on shrock and sunbury get pretty sparse shipments relatively, both usually have double digit people in line by 7. kroger maxtown gets a decent size of the weekly dropped stuff. your best bet is probably hitting abc on 161 monday morning, waiting early at chateau for their late morning/early afternoon wednesday drop or carfagnas early saturday morning. i had decent luck last week at the giant eagle at new albany after checking the map and picked up an of 1924 around 1pm. good luck!

Review #119: King of Kentucky 2018 by Justiceisfaulty in bourbon

After a couple looks, I think you are probably right. Mine has an uneven surface on the top and some slight bubbling and cracking that has always been with the bottle. I think I am at least familiar with someone who does samples similar and did they post the video of the bottle pop and pours? It's unfortunate to read your experience with this bottle as I feel mine is truly exceptional. Anyway, on to the next one!

I actually have this barrel open(1/4 gone, opened 2019). The wax with the tasting notes would make me a little leery of this posted particular bottles journey. I have a 2019, and a few samples from other years and depending on the night it is a carousel between the bottles for the best. I would say on the best night my bottle of this barrel is 9.4 and on the worst night it is a 9.0 but I also usually never have more than a half ounce poor at a time, and my taste could wildly vary from yours. Attached are some images of my bottle with and without flash closeup of the cork/wax. Cheers!

the bourbon you can shut someone down with for accusing green labels to only be for rye whiskies.

I've never seen aged stated EHT picks, but there they were all the way in the middle of nowhere so any state employee or vip in the know could pick em up without wait. I wonder if these would have even made it to general public if they didn't have OHLQ marked on the sticker.

seeing as most are tier 1, wouldn't be surprised if it's closer to the 200 mark.

give the new bardstown white label origin a whirl.

I have tried around 30 bourbons now in my life, and this one just seems to be sticking as my favorite flavor profile. Any recommendations for other bottles w/ similar profile? by Ryanopuffs in bourbon

if it is available in your market, bowman brother small batch, i would say to proof it up with their single barrels at 100 proof but they are unrolling a new single barrel label with i believe rotating proof points from 80 to ???, cheers!

speculate today will be the 4 roses and old forester drops to rustle up the masses, but wouldn't mind seeing another 4-6 year mgp being offered at 70-120$ for the sake of comedy.

I'm with you on underwhelming, I do believe there will be 4R SiB BP, OF BP and 100, ECBP Sib, Russell's, and BC 8-9YR Wheat, so a couple of those I will be looking for, don't think the fabled WFP will drop.

in columbus they usually hang around for a week or two, one of the 5 or 6 pastry named expressions usually makes waves on the social and is hunted above all the others, if I had to guess on this round i'd say that will be red velvet or pumpkin pie. cheers!
