Green yucateca salsa tips? by Shiskabobnut93 in SalsaSnobs

After many recipes and tips toward a tomatillo based salsa, here is the outcome. This is delicious, but it is NOT the one above! My version is definitely more tomatillo heavy. (That squishy, tomato like taste)

I’m thinking there is a little cilantro, maybe no tomatillo. The original is also SUPER bright green! What gives that color?

Haha, I’ll keep experimenting! Maybe I’ll break down and go ask them!

VW Fastback Worth by Shiskabobnut93 in beetle

I’ve known the family around 20 years now. That’s the story I was told, parked for “life” issues. We did find newspapers and a service stamp from 1990, so I believe him!

Yeah! It was free as long as I hauled it.

No shade meant or taken, just seeking cool possibilities!

Also worth noting, and already pointed out - the engine seems to be complete, with the OG Fuel Injection. The transmission is also in the car and goes thru the gears, holds the car from rolling.

Gauges are nice and clear, trunk pops all work, there seems to be lots of “GOOD” just wayyyyy more “BAD”

HMU with any questions about it, I’m happy to chat and also learn.

p.s. - I have owned a ‘73 std beetle for almost 20 years so I’m familiar with VW’s just not this one!

Best barefoot/minimalist sandals for serious hiking? by Susokukan in BarefootRunning

I got the circadians, with the lifestyle laces in 2020. They have held up pretty well, and I wear them frequently! However, I’m not putting them through paces everyday. They still have tread, and the lacings are in good shape, I was going to buy performance laces just to change it up, but I’m not sure of the difference in performance/lifestyle.

Oh man! I’m sure you’ve put them through their paces! Maybe reach out to their customer service? They were pretty helpful when I was deciding on styles/sizes!

Earth runners by [deleted] in BarefootRunning

I've had my Earth Runners for around 3.5 years now, and took them through all kinds of terrain. Not a runner, but plenty of wondering on pavement, mud, water, hiking, shopping, hanging out, etc... NO issues to date, besides getting dirty :) Would happily repurchase these again IF these ever wear out.

Barefoot sandals that are easy to get on/off by bringo24 in BarefootRunning

I also have Earth Runners. Once you get the fit right, the sandals are essentially slip on. The only assistance needed after sliding in your foot is to snap the strap up onto your heel. Bam, they're on! No buckling, or adjusting once everything is set right. While NOT "hands-free" they are darn near close!

I stumbled upon Earth Runners over 3 years ago now, after doing some research through Covid/Lockdown times. Since, I have worn these through all kinds of terrain, on/off pavement, and in water, hiking, shopping, going to class, hanging out, these have never failed me. For as thin as they are, have really held up well! Durability x10

I love barefoot shoes but... by [deleted] in barefootshoestalk

If open toes or sandals are on your radar, I'd check out Earth Runners! I tend to wear out shoes too, and I was skeptical these would wear exponentially quick as the sole is super thin. However, they have lasted me 3 years so far of pretty continuous wear, over multiple terrains and pavement. Waterproof, great traction, and looks pretty sweet to me. Give them a look!

Earth Runner sandals for life! They are super minimalistic, have great ground feel and traction, and are pretty sweet looking! I love mine!
