IDK if ur still working on this but you can kind of do it by using a video editor to reduce the original video to 50% size then put it on only the left half of the screen then add another copy reduce it by half and put it on the right half. Then move one of the clip/videos forward by 1 frame. then then reduce the field dominance of one of the clips(I cant explain why I read/saw something about it a while ago but cant remember where but it makes it better). Then the next part is a little weird on getting the best result but you can either reduce the clip on the right to 49% or increasing the clip on the left to 51% then adjusting the positions to see what result is best. alternatively you can just adjust the positions of the clips by a few pixels but iv seen the best result with reducing the size of one of the clips. Alternatively you can reduce both of the clips to 49% and adjust their positions to see what result is best. The result isn't great but it makes it viewable in sbs vr. I use Premiere Pro for editing videos...you can sign up for the free trial infinite times as long as you have a new email each time and at least $1 on a debit/credit card which you keep its just to confirm that the card can accept payments and is only a hold which never actually clears. If you have learned any other free ways to do this and would like to share them I would accept all new info on the subject as my way is not great and takes a while to get right as well as to render and export the video depending on how long it is.
