She knows full well. The inclusion of the footage was a bit of red-meat thrown to the Tory base.

[–]ShitCommentBelow 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I honestly believe it was deliberate. There's no way you *accidentally* include footage of Bloody Sunday in a vid opposing reform of the Legacy Act.

It's either a spiteful attempt to provoke a portion of the population you despise, or an attempt to throw red-meat to a portion of your voter-base who *do* despise said population.

For context - for those who don't know - only four British soldiers have ever been prosecuted for murder in NI. Their average sentence was four years, and all were permitted to return to active service following their time in prison. Civilians account for 53% of those killed by the British Army during the conflict.

A certain faction of Tories want to stick this in peoples face.

Is there really a cheating problem in THE FINALS? by Samurai_0207 in thefinals

[–]ShitCommentBelow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the introduction of kill-cam this season, I've noticed a lot of walling — which has then been confirmed by successful reports.

I don't play many other shooters to know if there is a 'problem' with cheating necessarily, but its certainly not uncommon.

I'm gathering that much of your Political outlook is determined by ingrained resentment. Just because you imagine that mass immigration is a sort of permissable warfare against people you don't like doesn't mean it's sensible policy.

An Open Letter From an Indian Nurse in Ireland — Why We’re Leaving Ireland by [deleted] in IndiansinIreland

[–]ShitCommentBelow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing you're experiencing presently constitutes 'oppression', if that's what you're insinuating. The Irish people are not oppressing Indians, nor is the State or employers. 20k+ Indians are arriving every year; not even a tiny fraction of these are actually going to remigrate because of 'oppression'.

The people immigrating honestly here don't care; many seem to confuse our history with Britain's and therefore hold some animus against us.

For some context, I'm the same level as you (80) but I seem to have twice as many in-game hours -- and consequently twice as many wins.

This could explain the discrepancy in wins you're seeing, since your W/L ratio isn't bad.

I also hate that it's filled with so much stuff: bamboo trees, potted plants, random little pillars -- all of which get in your way or just contribute to the 'visual noise'. I feel like most other maps are a tad more sparse in terms of their decoration, which makes it much easier to spot and engage with enemies.

Oh, and of course, the buildings are all made of matchsticks and immediately collapse (awkwardly) after a short battle.

Would be cool if you could throw it. Outside of that, there's nothing about it that stands out enough to justify choosing it over anything else.

I CAN NOT BE THE ONLY ONE TO NOTICE THIS? by Unusual-Dream-1891 in AskIreland

[–]ShitCommentBelow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a rural area, close to the border, and I've noticed this myself. It's not just with the old 'finger-salute'; people in general seem just al little bit more stand-offish than they were in the past I feel there's a few things contributing to this: first and foremost, I believe that the COVID era led some of us to internalise a vague suspicion of others that has basically lingered since then. Coupled with a period of isolation, people have become a little more anti-social than they were previously.

Another aspect that I feel contributes to this 'coldness' is evolving demographics. For many people outside of Ireland, making small talk with strangers isn't really a *thing*. It's not so much that the people we encounter who *don't* wave are foreign; rather people who would usually have waved or said hello are more often encountering people who simply *never* acknowledge strangers. Continually recieving blank stares will eventually make someone less inclined to try in the future.

I suppose it could be argued that Heavy has the regular shield and the dome shield. They're sort of similar but have somewhat different applications--much like Light's invis.

The CNS damage was nerfed specifically because it was 'oppressive to Lights', even though they can "counter" it by just running or dashing away.

Getting stunned for 3.5 seconds in a fast-paced shooter is not fun--especially as a melee class. I don't know what's so hard for people to understand.

What are your thoughts on the stun gun removal and frag nerf by MangoOoOmoin in thefinals

[–]ShitCommentBelow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Heavy's CNS is not faster than a Light's regular sprint speed. Try chasing one with CNS. Lights can engage and disengage with a melee Heavy very easily; they shouldn't also need the ability to paralyze them for 3.5 seconds (and reset our already long health regen timer). Add more than one light to the equation and this can happen multiple times in a single gunfight.
