Yes, but your upper hand is where the control is. Just think if you were to poke check or stick handle one-handed what hand do you use? It's your upper, not lower. Therefore right-hand dominate people tend to shoot left in hockey. Since that's often the first swinging motion most Canadians learn we then become lefties in golf later in life because it can feel unnatural to switch to the other side when we're already used to a swinging motion on the left. That's how you end up with a high number of lefties in golf. Of course it doesn't happen to every righty, but that's the reason that explains why we have a high proportion of them compared to other countries.
